BBQ PORK TENDERLOIN IN THE CROCK POT

BBQ Pork Tenderloin in the Crock Pot image

I wanted to make BBQ pork tenderloin in the slow cooker, but not pulled pork. This worked out nicely so I thought I'd post the recipe so I can make it again. Hope you enjoy it too. This was easy to slice, though could have easily been shredded as well. Served with rice to put the extra sauce on, along with a veg (I used peas and carrots). I only cooked 1 pork tenderloin and had lots of sauce leftover so you might only want to double the sauce if you do 3 or more tenderloins I would guess?!?

CROCK POT BBQ PORK

Crock Pot BBQ Pork image

I searched recipezaar for BBQ sauce recipes and made this one out of three or four recipes. It is rather loose and based on what was in my cupboard at the time. Please experiment with it! It would be amazing on baked or grilled chicken too!

Provided by Alyss05

Categories     Pork

Time 5h20m

Yield 4-6 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 15

2 1/2-3 lbs picnic pork roast, trimmed to fit the crock pot
1 onion, sliced
3 garlic cloves, halved
3/4 cup ketchup
1/4 cup lemon juice
3 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
2 tablespoons maple syrup
1 tablespoon molasses
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon chipotle hot sauce
2 garlic cloves, pressed
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon ground black pepper
3 tablespoons tomato paste

Steps:

  • Lay sliced onions and halved garlic cloves in the bottom of the crock pot.
  • Lay hunk o' pig on top of the onions.
  • Combine sauce ingredients (from ketchup to black pepper). Please add more or use less of whatever you want. This was a thrown together thing, but it worked pretty good :) If you are ever in Portland OR make sure you pick up a bottle of Secret Aardvark sauce, otherwise use whatever hot sauce you like (chipotle anything would be amazing in here!).
  • Pour the sauce over the pig and onions, turn your crock pot on and go to work. It will probably take 5-8 hours to cook this baby, depending on your crock.
  • When done pull the hunk o' pig out of the crock pot and into a large bowl or pot. Using two forks shred the meat and separate it from the gristle and bone.
  • Strain the contents of the crock pot into a sauce pan on the stove. Discard the onions. If you have the time and inclination reduce the sauce and degrease it anyway you can (I used ice cubes and paper towels and it was still pretty greasy -- refrigerating it and peeling the fat off would be the best, but isn't the point of a crock pot meal that you have dinner ready when you get home?). Use additional tomato paste or other ingredients to thicken and adjust the flavor of the sauce.
  • Mix a bit of the sauce into the pork to make it saucy to your liking. Serve with bread and more hot sauce. Wallow in porky heaven.
  • MMMMmmmm.

SLOW-COOKER BARBECUE RIBS

Slow-Cooker Barbecue Ribs image

Yes, you can cook ribs in a slow cooker! In this easy recipe, the seasoning paste transforms into a savory dipping sauce. Slather it on the ribs and pop them on the grill just before serving for a final char.

Provided by Food Network Kitchen

Categories     main-dish

Time 4h40m

Yield 6 servings

Number Of Ingredients 11

One 6-ounce can tomato paste
1/3 cup packed dark brown sugar
1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
1 tablespoon chili powder
1 tablespoon ground mustard seeds
2 teaspoons granulated garlic
2 teaspoons smoked paprika
2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper
3 racks baby back ribs (about 3 pounds)
Oil, for grilling

Steps:

  • Whisk the tomato paste, brown sugar, vinegar, chili powder, mustard, garlic, paprika, Worcestershire, 1 1/2 tablespoons salt and 1 teaspoon pepper in the insert of a 6-quart slow cooker until smooth. Cut each rack of ribs in half and add to the slow cooker. Use your hands to rub the sauce on to the ribs. Cover with a lid and cook on low heat until tender, about 4 hours.
  • Gently transfer the ribs to a baking sheet and cool for at least 20 minutes; this will help maintain the shape of the ribs as they grill. Whisk the sauce at the bottom of the slow cooker until smooth. Reserve 1/4 cup of the sauce to brush on to the ribs and save any remaining sauce to serve on the side (it will thicken as it cools).
  • Preheat a grill or grill pan to medium-high heat. Lightly oil the grates. Grill the ribs, top-side down, until lightly charred in parts, 3 to 5 minutes. Flip, brush the top side of the ribs with the reserved barbecue sauce and grill until the underside of the ribs are lightly charred in parts, 3 to 5 minutes. Remove to a platter and serve immediately with the extra barbecue sauce on the side.

BBQ PULLED PORK (CROCK POT)

BBQ Pulled Pork (Crock Pot) image

Sweet and delicious, this is a personal favorite that I cook every other week or so. I spent 10 yrs of my life living in Georgia, and the thing I miss the most about the south is their wonderful food. I got fed up with Restaurants' pitiful attempts at BBQ pulled pork in the North where I currently live, so I decided to buy a crock pot and make my own. Obviously a smoker is the best way to cook this, but trust me this recipe is amazing. For those who have the time, STEP 2 can have 2 hrs added, and STEP 5 can be extended by 1 hr.

Provided by danmbaker

Categories     Pork

Time 7h10m

Yield 2-4 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 5

1/2 chopped onion
2 1/2 lbs boston pork butt
1 pinch salt
1 pinch black pepper
1 (18 ounce) bottle barbecue sauce (your preference)

Steps:

  • Slow cook Boston Butt and sliced Onion for 2 hrs, Crock Pot set to LOW, uninterrupted. Some people add brown sugar or other spices depending on preference.
  • Hr 2- Hr 4: Periodically open and Scoop the broth that has been created from your meat over the top, ensuring the meat gets equal flavor and no part becomes dry/burnt. I choose to do so about every 20-30 minutes.
  • Remove Butt, discard liquid broth. Return meat to Crock Pot and cover completely with choice of BBQ Sauce. Shop around to find what works best for you, I find that the accepted normal brands are nowhere near as flavorful as the ones that don't have tons of advertisements. Continue to cook on LOW for 2 hours.
  • Remove meat and place on a plate or casserole dish. Using two forks, facing opposite directions, peel the meat apart into stringy sections by holding down with one fork and gently dabbing and peeling with the other. Continue until entire Butt is completely "pulled"-removing fatty deposits throughout. The result should be a beautiful dish of pulled pork.
  • Return pulled meat to crock pot. Add more BBQ Sauce, the amount depending on your preference. Add salt/pepper prior to sauce if desired. Stir in sauce and continue to cook on LOW for another 1 hour-longer is ok also.
  • Stir occasionally, adding sauce if needed.
  • Remove meat, let cool for 5 minutes Serve on sandwich buns (Calise Kaiser Rolls are my personal favorite). Serve with a pickle on side and a starch.
  • This recipe is designed for 2 people, or for 1 person to have a meal and a few more leftover sandwiches for lunch and/or dinner the next day. For larger groups, increase the ingredients as required.
