Top off fudgie brownies with a perky coffee cream cheese layer and deep, dark chocolate.

1 box Betty Crocker™ chocolate chunk premium brownie mix
Water, vegetable oil and eggs as called for on brownie mix box
4 cups powdered sugar
1 (3 oz) pkg. cream cheese, softened
2 tablespoons butter or margarine, softened
2 tablespoon coffee-flavored liqueur or coffee
1 cup dark chocolate chips
3 tablespoons butter or margarine

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 350° F (325° F for dark or nonstick pans). Grease or spray 8-inch square pan.
  • Make brownies as directed on box, using water, oil, and eggs. Spread into pan. Bake 39 to 42 minutes or until toothpick inserted 2 inches from edge of pan comes out clean. Cool completely.
  • In medium bowl, beat cream cheese, powdered sugar, 2 tablespoons butter and liqueur with electric mixer on high speed until smooth and creamy. Spread over cooled brownies.
  • In small microwaveable bowl, microwave chocolate chips and butter uncovered on High 1 to 2 minutes, stirring once, until melted. Carefully spread over filling. Refrigerate 30 minutes or until set. Store in refrigerator.

1/2 cup butter, cubed
3 ounces unsweetened chocolate, chopped
2 large eggs, room temperature
1 cup sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2/3 cup all-purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
FILLING:
1 teaspoon instant coffee granules
3 tablespoons heavy whipping cream
1 cup confectioners' sugar
2 tablespoons butter, softened
GLAZE:
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
1/3 cup heavy whipping cream

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350°. In a microwave, melt butter and chocolate; stir until smooth. Cool slightly. In a small bowl, beat the eggs, sugar and vanilla; stir in chocolate mixture. Combine flour and baking soda; stir into chocolate mixture. , Spread into a greased 8-in. square baking pan. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in center comes out clean (do not overbake). Cool on a wire rack., For filling, dissolve coffee granules in cream. Add confectioners' sugar and butter; beat just until light and fluffy (do not overbeat). Spread over brownies. Refrigerate until set., In a small saucepan, combine chips and cream. Cook and stir over low heat until chips are melted. Cool slightly. Carefully spread over filling. Let stand for 30 minutes or until glaze is set. Cut into squares. Store in refrigerator.

Steps:

  • In a saucepan over low heat, melt butter and chocolate; cool slightly.
  • In a small mixing bowl, beat eggs, sugar and vanilla; stir in the chocolate mixture. Combine flour and baking soda; add to the chocolate mixture.
  • Spread into a greased 8" square baking pan -- bake at 350* for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean (do not overbake) Cool on wire rack.
  • For filling, combine cream and coffee granules in a small bowl; stir until coffee is dissolved. In a small mixing bowl beat butter and confectioners' sugar. Add coffee mixture, beat until creamy and spread over brownies.
  • In a small saucepan, combine chips and cream.cook and stir over low heat until chocolate is melted and mixture is thickened.
  • Cool slightly. Carefully spread over filling. let stand for 30 minutes or until glaze is set. Cut into squares. Store in refrigerator.

2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup flour
1/4 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup nuts, chopped finely
4 ounces cream cheese, softened
2 tablespoons butter, softened
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
1/4 cup sugar
2 tablespoons water
1/2 miniature semisweet chocolate chips

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 350 degrees.
  • Line a 9x13 pan with foil and grease the foil.
  • Melt the butter in a saucepan.
  • Remove from heat.
  • Stir in cocoa until smooth.
  • In a medium bowl, beat eggs and sugar until fluffy.
  • Stir together flour, baking powder, and salt and add to egg mixture.
  • Add cocoa mixture and vanilla.
  • Beat until smooth and add the nuts.
  • Spread into the pan.
  • Bake for 13 to 15 minutes or until top springs back when lightly touched in the center.
  • Cool completely.
  • Make filling mixture: Beat softened cream cheese, softened butter, vanilla in a bowl.
  • Gradually add powdered sugar until of spreading consistency.
  • Make glaze mixture: Heat 1/4 cup sugar and 2 tbs water in a small saucepan until boiling.
  • Remove from head and add chocolate mini chips.
  • Stir until melted.
  • Cut cooled brownie in half crosswise.
  • Spread bottom half of brownie with creamy filling.
  • Top with the top half of the brownie.
  • Spread glaze over top.
  • Cut into bars after glaze has set.

1 large egg white
3/4 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1 teaspoon baking powder

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F Spray an 8-inch square baking dish with vegetable spray.
  • Make filling: in a food processor or bowl with an electric mixer, beat together the cream cheese, sugar, milk and vanilla until the mixture is smooth. Set it aside.
  • Make the cake: in a large bowl, mix together brown sugar, sour cream, oil, whole egg and egg white. In a separate bowl, stir together flour, cocoa and baking powder. Add the liquid ingredients to the dry ingredients, blending just until everything is mixed.

1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup sugar, plus
1 tablespoon sugar
2 eggs

3/4 cup self rising flour, sifted
1 3/4 ounces pecans, chopped
1 tablespoon milk
1 tablespoon butter
1/2 cup confectioners' sugar

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350F.
  • Lightly grease an 8-inch square cake pan and line with parchment Beat together the cheese, vanilla, extract, and 5 teaspoons of the sugar until smooth, set aside Beat the eggs and remaining sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Place the butter and the cocoa in a small pan and gently heat, stirring until the butter melts and the mixture combines, then stir it into the egg mixture.

  • Bake for 40-45 minutes, cool in the pan To make the frosting, melt the butter in the milk.
  • Stir in the confectioner's sugar and the cocoa.
  • Spread over the cooled brownies and decorate with the pecan halves.
  • Cut into 16 squares and serve.

2 teaspoons instant coffee granules

3/4 cup powdered sugar, sifted
1 egg yolk
1 teaspoon instant coffee granules

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350° and grease 3 or 4 baking sheets.
  • In a bowl, beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  • In separate bowl, beat egg with coffee granules until dissolved. Gradually add to creamed mixture, beating well.
  • Sift the flour, cornstarch and baking powder over mixture.
  • Stir in to make a soft dough and knead lightly.

  • In another bowl, mix egg yolk with coffee granules; add to creamed mixture and beat until smooth.
  • Spread the filling on plain cookies and then sandwich together.
  • Let cool in cool place until filling is firm.
