2 cups chopped dates
1 cup hot water
1 cup sugar
2/3 cup shortening
2 large eggs
1-1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
TOPPING:
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup chopped nuts

Steps:

  • In a small bowl, combine dates and water; set aside to cool (do not drain). In a large bowl, cream sugar and shortening until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs. Combine the flour, baking soda and salt; gradually added to creamed mixture. Stir in dates. , Pour into a greased and floured 13x9-in. baking pan. Combine the topping ingredients; sprinkle over batter. Bake at 350° for 40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Cool on a wire rack.

This is my version of a Chocolate Brownie, it' s yummy!

Number Of Ingredients 9

1. 400g Caster Sugar
2. 225g Butter or Margarine
3. 55g Dark Chocolate
4. 55g Milk Chocolate
5. 100g Chopped Dates
6. 4 Eggs Beaten
7. 2 Tsp Vanilla Essence
8. 170g Plain Flour
9. 1/2 Teaspoon Baking Powder

Steps:

  • Melt Butter and Chocolate over low heat
  • Add sugar , chopped dates, mix thougherly, add beaten eggs, Vanilla essence,
  • Add Baking powder to flour then add to mixture stirring thougherly until ingredients are well mixed.
  • Pour mixture into a greased dish and bake at
  • 160c/325f for 50-60 mins.
  • Allow to cool. Cut into 12 squares, serve with clotted cream.

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F, then grease & flour a 13"x9" baking pan.
  • FOR BASE ~ In a saucepam. combine dates & water. Bring to a low boil, then remove from heat & set aside to cool. Do not drain.
  • In a mixing bowl, cream the sugar & shortening.
  • Add eggs, flour, baking soda & salt, mixing well.
  • Add dates & mix, then pour into prepared baking pan.
  • FOR TOPPING ~ Combine the 3 topping ingredients, then sprinkle that mixture over the batter.
  • Bake for 40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.

1 cup chopped dates
1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
3/4 cup margarine, softened
1 cup sugar
2 eggs, beaten
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 3/4 cups flour
3/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup sugar
3/4 cup walnuts, chopped
6 ounces chocolate chips

Steps:

  • In medium bowl mix 1 1/2 c boiling water and 1 1/2 tsp baking soda with the dates.
  • Set aside to cool.
  • Beat together margarine,1 c sugar and eggs in large bowl.
  • To this add vanilla extract and date mixture.
  • Add flour, 3/4 tsp baking soda and salt.
  • Pour into greased and floured 13x9 pan.
  • Sprinkle 1/4 c sugar, nuts and chocolate morsels on top.
  • Bake @ 325 degrees 45 minutes.
  • The difficult part: set aside until the next day to eat.

1 cup white sugar
1 cup shortening
2 eggs
1 ⅓ cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking soda

1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
1 cup chopped walnuts

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (180 degrees C).
  • Cook chopped dates and water over low heat until soft. Set aside.
  • Cream together sugar and shortening. Add eggs and beat well. Stir in flour, salt, baking soda, cocoa and vanilla and mix well. Stir in date mixture.

12 tablespoons (1 1/2 sticks) unsalted butter, plus more for pan
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 1/2 cups quick-cooking oats
1 cup packed light-brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
Date Paste

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Butter an 8-by-8-by-2-inch baking pan, and set aside. In a large bowl, combine flour, oats, brown sugar, and baking soda. Add butter, and blend with your fingertips until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  • Transfer two-thirds of the crumb mixture into prepared pan, and press into bottom and up sides. Spread date paste over bottom layer of the dough. Cover with remaining crumb mixture.
  • Bake until golden brown, about 35 minutes. Transfer pan to a wire rack to cool completely. Invert onto a plate, then back onto a cutting board. Cut into 2-inch squares. Store in an airtight container for up to 1 week.

Steps:

  • Coat 8x8" baking pan with nonstick vegetable oil spray; line with parchment, leaving overhang on all sides. Process 2 cups pitted Medjool dates, 3/4 cup raw cacao powder, 3/4 cup unsweetened shredded coconut, 1/4 cup cacao nibs, 2 tablespoons agave syrup, 1 teaspoon kosher salt, and 2 tablespoons water in a food processor until smooth (you may need to stop and scrape down sides a few times). 1/4 cup natural peanut butter
2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
4 ounces semisweet chocolate
Flaky sea salt

Steps:

  • Brush a 9-by-5-inch loaf pan with oil and line with parchment, leaving a 2-inch overhang on long sides.
  • In a food processor, pulse 1 1/2 cups walnuts, dates, peanut butter, vanilla, and kosher salt until finely chopped and mixture holds together. Transfer to a parchment-lined baking sheet and lightly knead to pack together; pat into an 8-inch square. Refrigerate until firm, 20 minutes.
  • Meanwhile, melt chocolate with oil. Halve nut mixture and press one part into loaf pan. Drizzle with half of chocolate. Refrigerate until chocolate just begins to set, 10 minutes.
