12 slices bacon
1 cup shredded Swiss cheese
⅓ cup chopped onion
2 cups milk
4 eggs
1 cup baking mix
⅛ teaspoon ground black pepper

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 400 degrees F (205 degrees C). Grease a 10-inch glass pie plate.
  • Place the bacon in a large skillet and cook over medium-high heat, turning occasionally, until evenly browned, about 10 minutes. Pat dry on paper towels and crumble the bacon. Sprinkle bacon, cheese, and onion in the pie plate.
  • In a medium bowl, stir the milk, eggs, baking mix, and pepper with fork until blended. Pour into pie plate.
  • Bake 35 to 40 minutes or until knife inserted in center comes out clean.

This recipe comes from my grandma, and it's one of my family's favorites. We love the combination of bacon, tomatoes and cheese for brunch at any time of year.

1 pastry shell, unbaked
1 pound sliced bacon, cooked and crumbled
1 large tomato, peeled and sliced
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
3 large eggs, separated
3/4 cup sour cream
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
Paprika

Steps:

  • Line unpricked pastry shell with a double thickness of heavy-duty foil. Bake at 450° for 5 minutes. Remove foil. Bake 5 minutes longer. Cool completely. , Sprinkle bacon over the crust. Top with tomato and cheese. In a large bowl, beat the egg yolks, sour cream, flour and salt until smooth. In another large bowl, beat egg whites until stiff. Fold into sour cream mixture; spread over cheese. Sprinkle with paprika. , Bake at 350° until a knife inserted in the center comes out clean, about 45 minutes. Let stand 5-10 minutes before cutting.

This pie is beautiful! I invented it tonight for dinner and thought that I just had to post it! Even for someone like me who isn't great at pastry it was super easy and tasted great. Please taste the filling as it is cooking before you add stock. Try to find a salt free or make it yourself because the bacon and cheese are salty enough. Also- thicken to your own liking

Number Of Ingredients 20

3 cups plain flour
2 tablespoons dried onion flakes
2 teaspoons paprika
1/4 teaspoon fresh ground black pepper
1 cup butter, cold and chopped
1 egg, beaten
6 -8 tablespoons cold water
4 slices bacon, diced
1 large onion, diced
1 kg of casserole beef, small dice
6 small eggs
3/4 cup flour
3 tablespoons oil
5 fresh garlic cloves
2 tablespoons paprika
1 teaspoon dried marjoram
1 teaspoon dried thyme
2 liters low sodium beef broth (I used homemade)
100 g cheddar cheese (to taste)
2 tablespoons parmesan cheese (optional)

Steps:

  • Pastry.
  • Put flour, onion flakes, pepper and paprika in a food processor. Add the butter and process until crumby.
  • Add half the cold water to the beaten egg and pour in while still mixing. Add water very slowly until it starts to resemble dough. Don't let it form a ball.
  • Divide dough in half, roll one lot out and line your pie dish. Prick and cover with dried beans and bake on 200 celsius until almost cooked -- about 15 minutes.
  • Wrap the other dough in wrap and refrigerate until needed.
  • Filling.
  • Sauté onion, bacon, garlic and paprika in the oil in a pan until cooked just through.
  • coat the beef with the flour and add to the pan, cook it for about five minutes and then add the stock slowly stirring it constantly to avoid lumps.
  • Depending on what meat you are using, add enough water to cook it down for a while (1-4 hours) and keep adding it as needed. Add the Marjoram.
  • When the meat is just about tender enough cook it down until it is thick.
  • Empty out the beans and pour the filling into the case. Break the eggs straight on top, spread out evenly and cover with the cheese (Save some for the top of the pie).
  • Roll out the pastry and put it on top. Prick a few air holes.
  • Brush with egg wash and sprinkle some extra bacon pieces, grated cheese (not too much and the parmesan on top. You can grind some pepper over it too.
  • Bake until golden brown on high for about 30 mins or so -- watch it!

3 cups milk
1 cup elbow pasta
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
1 tablespoon salt
2 teaspoons pepper
8 slices cheese, your choice of flavor
½ cup cooked bacon, chopped
oil, or butter, for greasing
2 tablespoons butter, melted
½ teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon italian seasoning

Steps:

  • In a large pot or skillet, add 2 cups (470ml) of milk, pasta, salt, and pepper. Bring it to boil, stirring constantly so the milk and pasta do not burn.
  • When the liquid is evaporated halfway, add the rest of the milk. Stir until pasta is al dente. Add shredded cheeses and mix until melted.
  • Take off the heat to prevent mac 'n' cheese from over cooking.
  • In a oven-safe ceramic bowl, coat the inside with butter (or oil). Place sliced cheese until the bowl is fully covered.
  • Add bacon (or any desired fixins'), and add the pasta to the top.
  • Roll or spread out pizza dough to fit the bowl and place over the top.
  • In a small bowl, melt butter. Add in garlic powder, salt, and Italian seasoning, then brush on top of dough.
  • Bake in a 350°F (180°C) over for 25 minutes.
  • Carefully place a plate over the dough and flip the bowl. Use a butter knife or fork to separate from the bowl.
  • Sprinkle with parsley for garnish.
  • Enjoy!

Pastry for a single-crust pie
3 packages (8 ounces each) cream cheese, softened
4 large eggs, room temperature, lightly beaten
1/4 cup 2% milk
1 cup shredded Swiss cheese
1/2 cup sliced green onions
6 bacon strips, cooked and crumbled
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon pepper
1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper
Assorted crackers

Steps:

  • Roll the pastry into a 13-1/2-in. circle. Fit into the bottom and up the sides of an ungreased 9-in. springform pan. Lightly prick the bottom. Bake at 450° for 8-10 minutes or until lightly browned. Cool slightly., In a large bowl, beat cream cheese until fluffy. Add eggs and milk; beat until smooth. Add cheese, onions, bacon, salt, pepper and cayenne; mix well. Pour into the crust., Bake at 350° until set and a knife inserted in the center comes out clean, 40-45 minutes. Cool 20 minutes. Remove sides of pan. Cut into thin slices; serve warm with crackers.

Crust:
1 cup unbleached all purpose flour
3/4 cup fine-grind whole grain cornmeal
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup (1/2 stick) chilled unsalted butter, cut into 1/2-inch cubes
3 tablespoons chilled solid vegetable shortening (preferably with no trans fats), diced
3 to 4 tablespoons ice water
Nonstick vegetable oil spray
Dressing
1/2 pound bacon, coarsely chopped
1 1/2 cups chopped sweet onion (such as Vidalia or Maui)
1 cup chopped red bell pepper
1 12-ounce package frozen corn kernels (2 1/2 cups), thawed, patted dry
1 1/2 cups half and half
3 large eggs
1 teaspoon dried thyme
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
1 cup chopped green onions
1 1/2 cups (packed) coarsely grated Gruyère cheese (about 6 ounces)

Steps:

  • For crust:
  • Whisk first 3 ingredients in large bowl. Using back of fork, cut in butter and shortening until mixture resembles coarse meal. Add 3 tablespoons ice water. Toss until dough comes together in moist clumps, adding more water by teaspoonfuls if dough is dry. Shape dough into disk. Wrap; chill at least 30 minutes.
  • Preheat oven to 400°F. Spray 9-inch-diameter glass pie dish with nonstick spray. Place large piece of parchment paper on work surface. Place dough in center; cover with second sheet of parchment. Roll out dough to 12-inch round. Peel off top parchment. Using bottom parchment as aid, turn dough over into prepared pie dish. Carefully peel off remaining parchment. Fit crust into dish, sealing any tears. Fold excess dough under and crimp edges, forming highstanding rim. DO AHEAD: Can be made 1 day ahead. Cover and chill.
  • For filling:
  • Cook bacon in large skillet over medium-high heat until crisp. Using slotted spoon, transfer bacon to paper towels to drain. Pour off all but 1 1/2 tablespoons drippings. Add onion and pepper to skillet. Sauté until almost tender, about 8 minutes. Add corn; sauté until very tender, about 3 minutes longer.
  • Whisk next 6 ingredients in large bowl to blend. Mix in green onions, then corn mixture. Sprinkle bacon, then cheese over bottom of crust. Pour in egg mixture.
  • Bake pie until filling is golden and just set in center, about 55 minutes. Let pie cool at least 30 minutes and up to 1 hour. Serve slightly warm.

6 -8 slices white bread (toast or thick)
50 g butter
2 cups cooked rice, cooled
4 bacon, rashers
2/3 cup tasty cheese, grated
4 eggs
1/4 cup cream
1/4 bunch chopped parsley

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 200°C Grease a 20cm springform tin with melted butter.
  • Cut the crusts off 6-8 slices of white toast bread. Spread each slice with butter. Line the tin with slices buttered-side down and the corners sticking up.
  • Place 2 cups of cooled cooked rice in a large mixing bowl. Remove the rind from 4 bacon rashers, finely chop rashers and add to the rice. Add 2/3 cup grated tasty cheese, 4 eggs, 1/4 cup cream and 1/4 bunch chopped parsley. Mix ingredients until well combined.
  • Spoon the rice mixture into the bread-lined tin. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until the rice mixture is firm and the bread is golden brown and crisp, and then serve immediately.
