CRUNCHY FRUIT SALADS
Liven up mealtime with this colorful side dish - a crunchy salad full of fruits and veggies made with Cheerios® cereal.

Steps:
- In medium bowl, mix apple, celery, raisins and dressing until blended. Refrigerate until serving time.
- Just before serving, arrange lettuce leaves in 4 salad bowls or on plates. Spoon apple mixture over lettuce. Top each serving with 1/4 cup cereal. Serve immediately.

- Melt margarine in 3-quart saucepan over low heat. Stir in brown sugar. Cook, stirring constantly, until thick and smooth.
- Stir in cereal. Cook 2 to 3 minutes, stirring constantly, until cereal is coated.
- Spread mixture in thin layer on ungreased cookie sheet. Cool 1 hour. Crumble mixture, and serve as snack. Store in airtight container.
CHEERIOS CRUNCH
My children loved this crunchy, sweet snack when they were growing up. I think the recipe originally came off the back of a Cheerios box, but I'm not positive.

Steps:
- Grease one 15x10" or two 9x13" pans.
- Put cereal, nuts, and raisins in a greased 4 quart bowl.
- Heat first 4 ingredients in 2 quart saucepan until it begins to bubble; cook 2 minutes longer.
- Stir in soda until foamy and pour over cereal, nuts, and raisins.
- Stir until well coated.
- Spread in prepared pans.
- Bake at 250 degrees for 15 minutes.
- Stir and let stand for 10 minutes to cool.
- Loosen from pan and cool another 30 minutes.
- Break into pieces.
CRUNCHY APPLE SALAD
I made this salad crunchier with the addition of toasted almonds. This is ideal for that someone who wants creamy but not made with globs of mayonnaise! Have fun with this recipe.

Steps:
- Toss the cut up apples with a bit of lemon juice to avoid browning. Cut the grapes in half.
- Mix the apples, grapes, celery, yogurt and 1/4 cup almonds together. Toss well to coat.
- Arrange on lettuce leaves if desired.
- Sprinkle each serving with the reserved 2 tablespoons of toasted almonds and add a sprig of fresh mint leaves.
- Chill if not eating immediately.
