I'll admit that the combination of ingredients in this recipe is unusual, but I guarantee the flavor is fabulous!

4 medium potatoes, peeled and cut into 1/2-inch cubes
2 cups water, divided
6 fully cooked bratwurst links (1 pound), cut into 1/2-inch slices
1 can (10-3/4 ounces) condensed cream of mushroom soup, undiluted
2 cups frozen cut green beans
1 small onion, chopped
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Steps:

  • Place potatoes and 1 cup water in a deep skillet or large saucepan; cook for 15 minutes or until almost tender. Drain and set aside. , In the same pan, brown bratwurst; add soup, beans, onion, potatoes and remaining water. Cover and simmer for 15 minutes or until the vegetables are tender. Stir in cheese; heat until melted.

1 onion, chopped
8 small red potatoes, cut into bite-size chunks
1 (8 ounce) package shredded Cheddar cheese
1 cup water
salt and ground black pepper to taste

Steps:

  • Place bratwurst sausages, green beans, cream of mushroom soup, bell pepper, onion, red potatoes, Cheddar cheese, and water in a slow cooker. Season with salt and black pepper. Cook on High until potatoes are tender, about 3 hours.

2 medium red peppers diced

1 pound bratwurst (, casing removed)
1 yellow onion (, diced)
2 carrots (, diced)
2 stalks celery (, thinly sliced)
1/2 teaspoon pepper
2 cups chicken broth
1/4 cup flour
1-1/2 cups whole milk
2 cups cheddar cheese (, shredded)
1/4 cup pickled jalapeno slices (, optional)

Steps:

  • Add bratwurst to a large stockpot on medium-high heat and cook, breaking into large chunks until well browned, about 6-8 minutes.
  • Remove sausage and add in the onions, carrots, and celery.
  • Reduce heat to medium and cook for 6-8 minutes, stirring occasionally until translucent.
  • Add in the black pepper and flour, whisking well until no longer raw.
  • Whisk in the whole milk and chicken broth slowly and cook until thickened and creamy, about 8-10 minutes.
  • Add in cooked bratwurst and cheddar cheese, whisking well until creamy and melted.
  • Top with jalapeno slices if desired. For more muted spice add the jalapenos in with the milk.

2 cups cubed Velveeta Cheese
1 can (10.75 oz.) cream of celery soup
Dash hot pepper sauce
2 cups milk

Steps:

  • Place the brats or sausage, potatoes, minced onion, green beans, red pepper, cheddar cheese, Velveeta Cheese, soup, hot sauce and milk into a slow cooker.
  • Cover and cook on medium for 3 hours or until potatoes are fork tender. If too thick, add a little more milk.
  • Serve with extra cheddar cheese and chopped scallions.
