EXPERIENCE USING CAYE NE PEPPER IN FOOD TO DETER SQUIRRELS?
May 26, 2021 There are several cats around, but they're more interested in the wild birds than the squirrels. My dog will chase off both cats and squirrels, but I wouldn't trust her with the chickens. (They have a separate yard she can't access.) Guess I'll have to keep thinking! Fortunately, the squirrels aren't a problem when the pen is shut.

IS ANTI-FREEZE SOAKED MEAT TOO MEAN OF A WAY TO KILL?
May 6, 2009 Try and build a better shelter for your chickens. More secure. I have lost chickens to raccoons . I caught the raccoon and relocated him. This way he would not keep coming back. When I had him in the trap, I looked into his eyes and all I could see, he just wanted food to eat.

SQUIRRELS EATING DUCK FEED??? - BACKYARD CHICKENS
Jul 21, 2012 We have some squirrels but they haven't tried to eat the duck feed yet. I do feed the squirrels though, in the front yard, with a peanut ring. It keeps them busy. I also have my wild bird feeders in the front yard. On occasion one or two have tried to eat out of the duck bowls but my ducks are quick to chase them off.

DO ANYBODY ELSE'S TURKEYS LOVE TO EAT DOG FOOD?
Sep 29, 2024 These two undernourished turkeys somebody just dropped off at our place went nuts when they found our dog bowls. They were gulping it down like crazy. They have 24/7 access to proper food but really like the dog food. It seems like a shame to not give it to them, as they are so skinny. Think...

SQUIRRELS AND CHIPMUNKS EATING THE CHICKEN FEED.
Mar 30, 2011 Squirrels have chewed holes in my plastic feed barrels, and even chew holes in the eaves of my grain shed just to steal food. Chipmunks aren't as destructive to property, but they spend all day running back and forth from the feeders with their cheeks stuffed with grain, and store it in burrows in the ground.

CAN SQUIRRELS KILL CHICKENS? - BACKYARD CHICKENS
Apr 28, 2013 What kind of squirrels? Ground squirrels are not carnivorus but they are certainly omnivorus, though for them that generally means they eat bugs etc. I guess I could see them going after small chicks, maybe, but I'd be surprised if they tried a grown hen. If the bird was near the fence it could have been a racoon.

KEEP SQUIRRELS FROM DUCK FOOD - BACKYARD CHICKENS
Jan 3, 2023 It actually has some nutritional benefits for the ducks, but the squirrels won't touch it. You don't need to use a lot, just a light sprinkle, then mix it in. We keep our feed inside the coop, and our cats and dogs go in and out of the coop just looking for a rodent, so squirrels don't dare.

DO YOUR SQUIRRELS EAT CAT FOOD? - BACKYARD CHICKENS
Oct 19, 2010 Squirrels are very opportunistic feeders. Cat, dog, chicken, horse, cattle feed they'll eat it all. The tomatoes out of your garden, the fruit off your trees, and many other things. They're just bushy tailed rats after all.

CAN SQUIRRELS HAVE GELATIN? - BACKYARD CHICKENS
Mar 14, 2021 About a day ago I made bird food ornaments that contain gelatin and bird feed in one of my after school clubs (I'll attach a picture from google below to show what it looks like) I was wondering if I left it out if it would be toxic to squirrels. I'd feel really bad to see a bunch of dead squirrels in my yard if it is toxic
