The Best Brunch Burger Recipe image

Serve this great burger for brunch! It will be your new favorite on Sunday morning!

Provided by lisa

Categories     Breakfast     Brunch     lunch

Time 35m

Number Of Ingredients 8

8 slices bacon
4 6 ounce burger patties
4 slices cheddar or colby jack cheese
4 potato buns
1 avocado, peeled, pitted and sliced
4 eggs
salt and pepper, to taste
ketchup for serving

Steps:

  • Cook bacon in a cast iron pan on medium heat for 10 minutes or until crispy. Drain extra grease and set bacon aside on paper towels.
  • Cook the burger patties on medium high, about 4 to 5 minutes on each side or until they are just slightly pink in the middle. Before they're finished cooking, add the slices of cheese to the top so that it melts.
  • Place the sliced avocado and bacon on the bun bottoms, then top with cheeseburgers. Keep warm on a plate.
  • Fry the four eggs in the pan for about 3 to 4 minutes or until whites are set. Season with salt and pepper to taste and top each cheeseburger with an egg. Top with bun.
  • Serve with ketchup and salt and pepper to taste.

BRUNCH BURGER

Brunch Burger image

Provided by Bobby Flay | Bio & Top Recipes

Categories     main-dish

Time 25m

Yield 4 servings

Number Of Ingredients 10

8 slices bacon
1 1/2 pounds ground beef (80/20 percent)
Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper
8 thin slices American cheese
2 tablespoons unsalted butter, divided
2 tablespoons canola oil, divided
4 large eggs
4 hamburger buns, split
1/2 cup ketchup
2 tablespoons hot sauce, such as Frank's RedHot or Cholula

Steps:

  • Cook the bacon in batches in a large skillet over medium heat until crisp, about 3 minutes per side. Remove to a paper towel-lined plate. Do not wipe out the skillet.
  • Shape the ground beef with your hands into 4 round patties about 1 1/2 inches thick and season each burger on both sides with the salt and pepper. Make a divot in the center of each burger. Put the burgers in the skillet with the bacon fat, divot-side up (see Cook's Note). Cook the burgers over medium-high heat, turning once, until golden brown on both sides and cooked to medium doneness, about 8 minutes total. Use a heatproof spoon to remove some of the bacon fat from the skillet as the burgers cook if desired.
  • Top each burger with 2 slices of the cheese. Carefully add 1/4 cup of water to the pan and immediately cover tightly with a lid. Count to 10. Lift the lid or dome to make sure that the cheese is totally melted (if not, cover again and count 5 seconds longer). Transfer the burgers to a plate and loosely tent with foil.
  • Meanwhile, melt 1 tablespoon of butter in 1 tablespoon of canola oil in a nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. Carefully crack 2 eggs into two small bowls. Add the eggs to the pan, season with salt and pepper and reduce the heat to medium. Cover the skillet with a lid for 1 to 2 minutes to "baste"; the yolk should still be runny. Remove the eggs from the pan and set aside. Repeat with the remaining 1 tablespoon of butter, 1 tablespoon of canola oil and 2 eggs.
  • Stir together the ketchup and hot sauce in a small bowl.
  • Toast the buns in a toaster. Spread the spicy ketchup on the top bun. Place the burgers on the bottom buns and top each with a fried egg and 2 strips of crispy bacon. Close the burgers and serve with more spicy ketchup if desired.

Categories     main-dish

Time 25m

Yield 4 servings

Number Of Ingredients 12

1/4 cup mayonnaise
1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
1 tablespoon drained prepared horseradish
12 ounces ground beef (80-percent lean)
8 ounces bulk Italian sausage
Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper
1 tablespoon unsalted butter
1/2 cup shredded Cheddar (about 2 ounces)
4 English muffins, regular, sandwich-size or corn, split and toasted
1 vine-ripe tomato, thickly sliced into 4 pieces
1 cup peppery greens, such as baby arugula, mustard greens or watercress
4 large eggs

Steps:

  • For the dressing: Stir the mayonnaise, mustard and horseradish together in a small bowl and set aside.
  • For the burgers: Gently mix together the ground beef, sausage and 1/4 teaspoon each salt and pepper. Divide the meat into 4 pieces and form each into a 4-inch patty.
  • Melt the butter in a 12-inch nonstick skillet over medium-high heat and add the patties. Cook until well browned, about 3 minutes, and then flip. Top with some of the cheese and continue to cook until the cheese is melted and the burger is just cooked through, 2 to 3 minutes.
  • Spread the toasted muffins with some of the mustard dressing and top with a slice of tomato and a burger patty.
  • Crack the eggs into the skillet with the sausage drippings and cook to your preference.
  • Place an egg on each burger and finish with some baby arugula on the top of the English muffin.

THE GREAT BREAKFAST BURGER

The great breakfast burger image

Start the day with this flavour-packed breakfast sausage burger with bacon, cheese and tomato relish

Provided by Good Food team

Categories     Dinner, Lunch, Main course

Time 1h55m

Number Of Ingredients 10

1 medium onion , roughly chopped
2tbsp tomato ketchup
1 tbsp oyster sauce
1kg sausagemeat , or meat squeezed from 16 large sausages
1 egg yolk
25g pack flat-leaf parsley , leaves chopped
8 slices melting cheese (we used havarti)
8 grilled rashers streaky smoked bacon
8 ciabatta buns, halved
tomato relish

Steps:

  • Put the onion, ketchup and oyster sauce in a food processor, then blend to a coarse paste, scraping down the sides of the processor if you need to. Put the sausagemeat into a mixing bowl, beat in the onion mix, egg yolk and 25ml water (and I mean really beat; if you have a tabletop mixer, do it in that), then add the parsley. Separate the mix into 8, roll into large balls, then flatten into patties. Chill on a plate for 1 hr.
  • To cook the burgers, heat a griddle or large frying pan without adding any extra fat. Fry for 3 mins on one side until golden, turn down the heat for 5 mins, then flip and repeat on the other side.
  • While the burgers cook, fry the bacon and, if you are game, some eggs as well. Heat the grill, then lightly toast the insides of the ciabatta buns.
  • Place the cooked burgers on a baking sheet, put a slice of cheese on each, then pop under the grill to melt. Sit the burgers on their buns, then place the bacon on top. If you feel like them, slide fried eggs on top of the bacon. Serve with a napkin.

BREAKFAST BURGER (BOBBY FLAY)

Breakfast Burger (Bobby Flay) image

Saw this on the CBS early show and they looked delicious! I don't know if I would eat these for breakfast, but they sure would hit the spot after a night out.

Provided by Brookelynne26

Categories     Lunch/Snacks

Time 20m

Yield 4 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 11

1 1/2 lbs ground chuck (80/20 percent) or 1 1/2 lbs ground turkey (90/10 percent)
kosher salt & freshly ground black pepper
2 tablespoons canola oil
4 large eggs
4 slices American cheese (optional)
8 slices bacon, cooked until crisp
4 hamburger buns, split
chipotle ketchup (optional)
3 russet potatoes, peeled
1 quart vegetable oil
kosher salt

Steps:

  • MaKe the Shoestring Fries: Heat oil to 375 degrees F. Slice the potatoes lengthwise into 1/8-inch slices. Then cut each slice into 1/8-inch long strips. Add the strips in batches, separating them when they hit the oil. Fry until golden brown, remove and drain on paper towels and season with salt.
  • Make the Burgers: Divide the meat into four equal portions (6-ounces each). Form each portion into loosely into a 3/4 -inch burger and make a deep depression in the center with your thumb. Season both sides of each burger with salt and pepper.
  • Cook the burger until slightly charred on both sides and cooked to desired doneness. Add the American cheese, during the last minute of cooking. Remove the burgers to a plate and loosely tent.
  • Reduce the heat of the pan/griddle to medium heat. Crack the eggs onto the cooking surface you used for the burgers and season the tops with salt and pepper. Let the eggs cook until the white just sets up, about 45 seconds. Gently flip the eggs over (trying not to break the yellow) and cook for 10 seconds. Place the eggs on top of the cheese on the burger. Place the burgers on a bun and top with the bacon and some of the shoestring fries. Drizzle fries with chipotle ketchup.

  • The day before you cook the burgers, prep your pork belly. Prick the skin (not the meat) all over with a fork; then rub equal parts salt and baking soda on the skin. Allow the pork belly to sit out overnight, uncovered, to dry. The next day, rinse it off and douse it in vinegar to neutralize the baking soda.
  • Dry the pork belly, then slice it into strips of desired width and length. Season with salt and black pepper, then pat dry with paper towels.
  • Fill a small saute pan halfway with cooking oil and heat to 350 degrees. Carefully fry pork belly slices a few at a time until they float and become golden brown, or reach 165 degrees. Drain cooked slices on paper towels and set aside.
  • Combine pork sausage and ground beef in a large bowl, seasoning it with salt, pepper, and Worcestershire sauce. Create 6- ½ inch patties and pan fry them over medium heat in a large, clean saute pan, flipping once (about 2 minutes on each side.) Top with cheese just before removing them to a plate.
