Provided by Sandra Lee

Categories     main-dish

Time 3h10m

Yield 8 servings

Number Of Ingredients 7

One 7 to 8-pound smoked fresh ham
1/2 cup packed light brown sugar
1/2 cup apple jelly
1/4 cup spicy brown mustard
3 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
1 tablespoon finely grated fresh ginger
2 teaspoons minced garlic

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 325 degrees F.
  • Place the ham in a roasting pan fat-side up. Score the fat with a crisscross pattern. Cook the ham for about 1 hour to allow the scored fat to open up.
  • In the meantime, in a small saucepan over medium heat, stir together the brown sugar, apple jelly, mustard, vinegar, ginger and garlic along with 2 tablespoons water. Bring to a simmer and cook for about 2 minutes until it has a smooth syrupy consistency.
  • Remove the ham from the oven. Generously brush the ham with half of the glaze. Place back in the oven and bake an additional 1 hour and 30 minutes, basting with the remaining glaze every 20 minutes. If the ham starts to get too brown, cover with foil. Remove from the oven, cover and allow the ham to rest for 30 minutes before slicing and serving.

Number Of Ingredients 3

1 10-pound bone-in smoked ham (with water added)
1 1/2 cups packed light brown sugar
1/2 cup clover honey

BROWN SUGAR GLAZED HAM

Brown Sugar Glazed Ham image

A juicy Brown Sugar Glazed Ham is the perfect centerpiece for Easter or Christmas dinner! This incredibly flavorful baked ham is always a crowdpleaser and has the most beautiful color and caramelized edges thanks to the BEST brown sugar glaze ever.

Provided by Amy Nash

Categories     Dinner

Time 2h40m

Number Of Ingredients 10

8-10 pounds bone-in, fully cooked spiral-cut ham
1 cup light or dark brown sugar
3/4 cup fresh orange juice
1/2 cup spicy (whole-grained mustard)
1/2 cup dark molasses
3 Tablespoons prepared horseradish (drained)
1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1/2 teaspoon ground allspice
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

Steps:

  • Remove ham from refrigerator and let it sit at room temperature for 1-2 hours in advance. This helps the ham heat up more evenly without drying out and is a common approach to cooking larger pieces of meat. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  • Make the brown sugar glaze by whisking all the ingredients together in a pan and bring to a simmer for 1-2 minutes until the brown sugar is dissolved. Set aside.
  • Brush ham with brown sugar glaze using a pastry brush. Place the ham flat side down (face down) in a large pan or roasting rack and cover completely with foil.
  • Bake covered for 45 minutes, then uncover and baste the ham with the juices from the pan and brush with 1/3 of the brown sugar glaze.
  • Recover and bake another 30 minutes, then baste the ham with it's own juices and glaze again with another 1/3 of the brown sugar glaze.
  • Uncover ham and bake 20-30 minutes more, until the ham reaches an internal temperature of 140 degrees F. Remove ham from oven and baste and brush with the remaining 1/3 of the brown sugar glaze.
  • Loosely cover with foil and let rest for 15-30 minutes for the juices to redistribute throughout the ham.

BROWN SUGAR MUSTARD GLAZED HAM

Brown Sugar Mustard Glazed Ham image

The most perfect sticky glaze is slathered all over this juicy, tender Brown Sugar Mustard Glazed Ham, with crisp edges and an incredible flavour. Don't even be intimidated by a ham this season, with all the tips and tricks you need right here!

Provided by Karina

Categories     Christmas     Dinner     Easter     Thanksgiving

Time 1h30m

Number Of Ingredients 9

8-10 pound (4-5 kg) bone-in fully cooked ham,
1/2 cup water
1/2 cup unsalted butter, (reduce fat or full fat)
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup honey
2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
4 cloves garlic, (smashed)

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 300°F | 150°C and arrange a rack in the lower third. Remove any plastic packaging or netting from the ham. Trim away the rind and discard. Set the ham aside to rest at room temperature for 1-2 hours.
  • Line a baking tray or dish with several sheets of aluminium foil or parchment paper if you prefer (it will make cleanup a lot easier).
  • Remove the rind or skin of the ham (refer to steps in post), ensuring you leave the fat on. Using a sharp knife score a 1-inch-wide diamond pattern (don't cut more than 1/4 inch deep) over the entire ham. Place the ham in the baking tray; pour 1/3 cup of water into the base of the pan and cover the ham with two pieces of foil or parchment paper and bake for 30 minutes.
  • Meanwhile, heat the butter in a small pot or saucepan over medium heat until golden browned. Add in the brown sugar, honey, mustard, cinnamon and cloves, stirring to mix together well until the brown sugar has completely dissolved, (about 2 minutes).
  • Reduce heat to low and add in the garlic. Allow it to become fragrant, cooking for a further minute or two until the glaze just begins to simmer, then set it aside and let cool to lukewarm (the glaze should be the consistency of room-temperature honey).
  • After 30 minutes baking time, carefully remove the ham from the oven and increase the oven temperature to 425°F | 220°C. Discard the foil or parchment paper and pour 1/3 of the glaze all over the ham, brushing in between the cuts to evenly cover. Return to the oven and bake uncovered for 15 minutes.
  • Remove from the oven, brush with another third of the glaze and some of the pan juices, and repeat again after 15 minutes more minutes of baking until a dark golden-brown crust has formed, (about 30 minutes total). For added depth of flavour, mix some of the ham pan juices together with the glaze in the pot which will help keep it runny enough for brushing. If your crust is still pink after there suggested baking time, turn on your broiler (or oven grill), and allow it to broil for 2-5 minutes, while keeping an eye on it so it doesn't burn from the sugar.
  • Let the ham rest 10-20 minutes before slicing.

Time 1h50m

1 fresh pineapple
2 (6 ounce) cans pineapple juice
1 cup brown sugar

Steps:
