- Rub the defrosted brats with the garlic and leave it stuck to the brats.
- Lay the brats in the bottom of a foil lined pan, leave enough foil on the sides to tent it over the brats later.
- Quarter the onion and apple and spread the pieces out over the brats.
- Sprinkle the pepper over the whole thing and seal the foil over the top.
- Bake in a 350 oven for an hour.

Bake in a 350 oven for an hour. **Intersperse the apple, which you want to cut into smaller slices, and onion with the brats. Can cook on stove or in crockpot with foil tent. I cooked in oven for full hour and they turned out great. The onions ended up with a very great flavor

Johnsonville Brats were on sale and I love them so I opened my cupboard doors and out came this recipe. I Challenge those of you that do not like Sauerkraut to try this recipe - I'll bet you'll say" Hey that ole Kraut isn't half bad!". This is easy to make, very little preparation and the bake time is 45 minutes where you can be doing other things. A small green salad will go well along side

- Boil your carrots and potatoes until they are almost tender; drain well.
- Put your brats in a skillet lightly prick them, pour in the beer, cover and simmer turning them once until the beer has evaporated.
- Finish browning the brats, remove and place them in an oven proof baking dish 8x8x2-inch or something similar.
- Return the skillet to medium heat add 1 tbs veggie oil and saute the onions until golden, add kraut, chili flakes, brown sugar, paprika, salt and pepper. Mix well scrapping all the bits of brown from the bottom of the pan.
- Your kraut mixture should now be a golden color. Add carrots and potatoes to the Brats; cover with the sauerkraut mixture, seal with foil.
- Bake in a 350°F over for 30- 45 minutes.
- Serve with Sweet Bavarian Mustard on the side.

OVEN-BAKED BRATWURST (EASY RECIPE)

- Preheat oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. Make sure your oven rack is in the center position.
- Cover your baking sheet with tin foil. (A casserole dish or baking pan also works well.)
- Place the bratwurst on the baking sheet, allowing plenty of space in between.
- Bake the bratwurst on one side for 10 minutes.
- Flip the brats and cook on the other side for 5 to 7 minutes (until browned).
- Quick Note: If you're cooking the brats with other veggies in the pan, they'll need 20 to 25 minutes. When cooked by themselves, the bratwurst cook in just 15 minutes.

- Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F. Heat the olive oil in a large ovenproof skillet over medium-high heat. Add the bratwurst, mushrooms, celery, carrot, scallion whites and thyme. Cook, stirring occasionally, until the mushrooms soften, about 4 minutes.
- Add the rice and cook, stirring to coat, 1 minute. Add the chicken broth, half-and-half and 1 teaspoon salt. Bring to a simmer, then cover the skillet and transfer to the oven. Bake until the rice is tender, about 18 minutes.
