2 pints fresh blackberries
1/4 cup sugar
Juice of 1/2 lime
2 cups sugar
Zest of 3 limes
1 lime wedge
2 cups tequila
1/2 cup triple sec
1/2 cup sugar
2 limes
Ice

Steps:

For the puree: Add the blackberries to a medium saucepan with the sugar and lime juice. Cook over low heat, covered, 20 to 25 minutes. Strain using a fine mesh strainer, pressing the berries to extract as much juice/puree as possible. Place in the fridge to cool completely.
For the lime sugar: Mix together the sugar and lime zest. Use a piece of lime to moisten the rim of each margarita glass, and then dip in the lime sugar.
For the margaritas: In a blender, add 1 cup of the tequila, 1/4 cup of the triple sec, 1/4 cup of the sugar, and the juice of 1 lime. Fill the blender with ice and blend until smooth. Then add as much blackberry puree as desired, 1/3 to 1/2 cup. Pour into 4 rimmed glasses and serve immediately. Repeat with the rest of the ingredients for the other 4 glasses.

1 tablespoon fresh blackberries
1 tablespoon diced poblano peppers, or 1 1/2 tablespoons, if very mild
1 ounce silver tequila
3/4 ounce Cointreau

Steps:

In a cocktail shaker, muddle the blackberries and poblano peppers. Shake with the tequila, Cointreau, and ice. Strain into a martini glass.

Lime wedges, for the rim and garnish
Chile-Lime Rub, recipe follows, for the rim
2 ounces tequila, preferably blanco
1 1/2 ounces fresh lime juice
1 ounce poblano liqueur, preferably Rancho Reyes Verde
1 ounce triple sec
1 tablespoon chile powder
1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
1/4 teaspoon ground cumin
1/4 teaspoon cayenne
1/4 teaspoon ground coriander
1/4 teaspoon sugar
Zest of 1 lime

Steps:

Run the edge of a rock glass with lime, then dip in a shallow dish of Chile-Lime Rub. Fill the glass with ice.
To a cocktail shaker with ice, add the tequila, lime juice, poblano liqueur and triple sec. Shake well. Pour into the glass and garnish with a lime wedge.
Mix together the chile powder, salt, cumin, cayenne, coriander, sugar and lime zest in a shallow dish.
