- Toss the beef with 1 tablespoon each cornstarch and vinegar and 2 teaspoons soy sauce in a medium bowl. In another bowl, stir the brown sugar, the remaining 2 teaspoons each cornstarch and vinegar, the remaining 1 teaspoon soy sauce, and 1/3 cup water until dissolved.
- Heat 1 tablespoon olive oil in a large nonstick skillet over high heat. Add the beef and cook, stirring occasionally, until just cooked through, 2 to 3 minutes. Transfer to a bowl and wipe out the skillet.
- Heat the remaining 2 tablespoons olive oil in the skillet over high heat. Add the garlic and red onion and stir-fry 2 minutes. Add the mushrooms, chard stems, 1/4 teaspoon salt, and pepper to taste and stir-fry until the vegetables are just tender, 4 minutes. Add the chard leaves and stir-fry until wilted. Stir the brown sugar mixture and add to the skillet along with the beef, stirring, until thickened, 1 minute. Add the lemon juice and season with salt and pepper. Serve with rice.

- Combine 1 1/2 tablespoons soy sauce, wine, sesame oil, 2 teaspoons cornstarch, ginger and garlic in medium bowl. Add beef and stir to coat. Let stand 30 minutes. Combine broth, remaining 1 teaspoon soy sauce and remaining 1 teaspoon cornstarch in small bowl.
- Heat 3 tablespoons vegetable oil in wok or heavy large skillet over high heat. Add water chestnuts and bell pepper and stir-fry 2 minutes. Remove from wok. Heat remaining 3 tablespoons oil in wok. Add beef with marinade and stir-fry until just cooked through, about 4 minutes. Return water chestnuts and peppers to wok and mix well. Stir broth mixture. Add to wok and cook until sauce boils and thickens, about 30 seconds. Serve with freshly cooked rice.

- In a large bowl, combine the first five ingredients; add beef and toss to coat. Refrigerate for 15 minutes. For sauce, in a small bowl, combine the cornstarch, broth, ketchup, soy sauce and sesame oil until smooth; set aside., In a large nonstick skillet or wok coated with cooking spray, stir-fry the beef mixture in 1 teaspoon canola oil until no longer pink. - Marinade beef with Chinese BBQ sauce, soy sauce, baking soda and sesame seed oil in refrigerator for at least 1 hour. Make sure to mix the ingredients well.
- In a wok, heat grape seed oil a little over medium. Stir fry green peppers until soft, about 5 minutes. Drain and set aside.
- Use the same wok and remaining oil to stir fry beef until brown. Add some more oil if necessary.
- Quickly stir in green peppers and salt. Combine well. Serve hot.

- Cut the beef into slices 5cm long and 5mm thick, cutting against the grain of the meat. Put them in a bowl. Mix in the soy sauce, sesame oil, rice wine or Sherry and cornflour. Leave to marinate for 20 mins.
- Heat a wok until it is very hot, then add the groundnut oil. When it is slightly smoking, add the beef slices and stir-fry for 5 mins or until lightly browned. Remove the meat from the wok and drain well in a colander set inside a bowl. Discard the drained oil.
- Wipe the wok clean and reheat it over a high heat. Add the peppers, and cook for 3-4 mins or until softened. Add the oyster sauce and bring it to a simmer. Return the drained beef slices to the wok and toss them thoroughly with the oyster sauce. Turn the mixture on to a serving platter, top with the spring onions and serve immediately.

- seed, core and cut red pepper into thin strips, set aside.
- in a wok stir fry beef over high heat until no longer pink, about 3 minutes. using a slotted spoon, transfer beef to plate.
- drain fat from wok, add oil, stir fry garlic, ginger, salt and pepper over medium heat until fragrant, about 1 minute.
- add green beans, red pepper and 2 tablespoons water, cover and steam until beans and pepper are tender-crisp, about 3 minutes.
- return beef and any juices to wok. whisk together beef stock, hoisin sauce, soy sauce, and cornstarch. stir into wok.
- bring to a boil, boil stirring until sauce is thickened and glossy, about 1 minute.
- sprinkle with green onions and serve.

A delicious meal, served with boiled white rice, that's easy and made from items that I've already got in my cupboards! My mother clipped this recipe from somewhere and it became a specialty of mine; however, I've been unable to find the original source.

- Slice the steak into 1/2-inch thick slices across the grain.
- Whisk together soy sauce, sugar, cornstarch, and ginger in a bowl until the sugar has dissolved and the mixture is smooth. Place the steak slices into the marinade, and stir until well-coated.
- Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a wok or large skillet over medium-high heat, and place 1/3 of the steak strips into the hot oil. Cook and stir until the beef is well-browned, about 3 minutes, and remove the beef from the wok to a bowl. Repeat twice more, with the remaining beef, and set the cooked beef aside.
- Return all the cooked beef to the hot wok, and stir in the onion. Toss the beef and onion together until the onion begins to soften, about 2 minutes, then stir in the green pepper. Cook and stir the mixture until the pepper has turned bright green and started to become tender, about 2 minutes, then add the tomatoes, stir everything together, and serve.

- Rinse, stem and seed bell pepper; trim and discard white veins.
- Cut pepper into strips about 1/4 inch wide and 2 inches long.
- Rinse beef and pat dry.
- Cut across the grain into 1/16 to 1/8-inch thick slices, then cut slices into bite-size pieces.
- Pour oil into a large nonstick frypan or wok over high heat.
- When oil is hot, add bell pepper and stir just until tender-crisp to bite, about 3 minutes.
- Pour from pan into a bowl.
- Add beef to pan over high heat and stir just until no longer pink, about 2 minutes.
- With a slotted spoon, transfer meat to bowl with pepper.
- To meat juices in pan, add lime juice, honey, hoisin sauce, soy sauce, ginger, and chili flakes.
- Boil over high heat, stirring often, until mixture is reduced to about 1/3 cup, 5 to 6 minutes.
- Pour beef and bell pepper back into pan and stir until hot, about 30 seconds.
- Spoon stir-fry onto a serving platter or individual plates and sprinkle with cilantro.
