Dec 15, 2024 2013 V40 Volvo refuses to start. I replaced my battery in Jan. with a brand new AGM start stop battery. Tested my alternator and all test shows that it is working as it should. Does anyone has a similar issue? From volvov40club.com

Dec 22, 2020 Since that battery also supplies power to the ECU memory when the car is switched off, as well as powering the stop/start system , don't ignore it. Like the main battery, Volvo recommend that it be a "Absorbent Glass Matt" ( AGM) battery type. I used a Yuasa YTX-12-BS battery to replace the 'Volvo" branded Exide BTX-14 BS battery that was in there. From volvov40club.com

Mar 6, 2025 Battery is easy to do yourself if you're at all handy around a screw driver and a spanner, just remember to reset the battery management system before you start using the car or it'll kill the lifespan of the battery. You don't need an AGM type battery if it's a manual transmission but you do for the automatic, according to Volvo. From volvov40club.com
