Ham and Cheese Sliders image

Ham and cheese party sliders. Serve warm.

Provided by TheRealPaulGately

Categories     Main Dish Recipes     Pork     Ham

Time 44m

Yield 12

Number Of Ingredients 11

cooking spray
1 (12 count) package Hawaiian sweet rolls
1 (6 ounce) package thinly sliced deli ham
¾ pound shredded Swiss cheese
½ cup unsalted butter
1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
1 tablespoon poppy seeds
2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
2 teaspoons dried minced onion
¼ teaspoon salt, or to taste
¼ teaspoon ground black pepper, or to taste

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Line a 9-inch square baking pan with aluminum foil and spray with cooking spray.
  • Slice attached rolls in half widthwise with a serrated knife, keeping rolls connected, into a bottom and top 'slab.' Place bottom slab in the prepared pan.
  • Layer about half the ham evenly over the bottom slab of rolls. Layer Swiss cheese evenly on top, and arrange remaining ham over the cheese. Cover with the top slab.
  • Place butter in a microwave-safe bowl. Heat in the microwave until melted, about 1 minute. Add mustard, poppy seeds, Worcestershire sauce, onion, salt, and pepper. Whisk to combine.
  • Pour butter mixture evenly and slowly over the rolls. Spread over the tops using a spatula; some of the mixture will pool at the base of the rolls. Cover with aluminum foil and let stand at room temperature for 5 to 10 minutes.
  • Bake in the preheated oven until cheese has melted, about 20 minutes. Uncover and continue baking until browned as desired, 3 to 5 minutes more. Slice into individual sliders.

ABSOLUTE BEST HAM AND CHEESE SLIDERS

Absolute Best Ham and Cheese Sliders image

These yummy sliders are a huge hit with the family and with the folks at our local church when we bring these to brunch! Feel free to play around with the fillings....sometimes we make these with sliced turkey and cheddar cheese. I also use spicy brown mustard at times instead of plain yellow mustard. Have fun and enjoy!

BAKED HAM AND CHEESE SLIDERS

Baked Ham and Cheese Sliders image

Ham and Cheese Sliders These baked ham and cheese sliders and layered with ham, melted cheese, on a Hawaiian sweet roll, and basted with a flavorful, buttery sauce.

Provided by Modern Honey - www.modernhoney.com

Categories     Appetizer     Lunch or Dinner

Number Of Ingredients 10

(1) 12-count pkg. Hawaiian Sweet Rolls ((see instructions below for slicing directions))
3/4 to 1 lb. Deli Ham
3/4 to 1 lb. Swiss Cheese ((or favorite cheese))
1/2 cup (1 stick) Salted Butter
1 Tablespoon Dijon Mustard
2 teaspoons Poppy Seeds
2 teaspoons Dried Minced Onions
1 teaspoon Worcestershire Sauce
1/4 teaspoon Salt
1/4 teaspoon Pepper

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line a 9 x 9 or 9 x 13 baking pan with aluminum foil and spray with cooking spray. This is an important step because the cheese will melt and can stick to the foil.
  • Use a long serrated knife to slice the rolls in half, lengthwise, so you have a slab of rolls. Don't pull the rolls apart or individually slice them because you want the rolls to be completely connected. Place the bottom side of the rolls in the pan.
  • Layer half of the ham over the rolls. Layer with the cheese and repeat. You can use any type of cheese you want -- Swiss, Cheddar, Pepper Jack, etc.
  • In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the butter. Add the dijon mustard (you can substitute regular mustard), poppy seeds, dried onion, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Brush the butter mixture all over the rolls. Evenly spread it over the top and allow some of the butter mixture to drip to the base of the rolls.
  • Cover with aluminum foil and bake covered for about 20-25 minutes until the cheese is melted. It may take slightly longer depending on the thickness of cheese and ham. Uncover the foil and bake for 3 to 5 minutes longer. Serve hot!

  • Evenly layer about half of the ham over the rolls.
  • Evenly layer the cheese.
  • Evenly layer the remaining ham.
  • Add the top 'slab' of rolls; set aside.

  • Evenly and slowly pour the butter mixture over the rolls. Use a spatula to spread the mixture over the tops. Some of the mixture will pool at the base of the rolls.

  • If you are preparing this to eat right now, preheat your oven to 350 degrees F. Spray a 9x13-inch baking dish with nonstick spray.
  • Slice the rolls in half. The easiest way to do this is if you open the package and slice the entire chunk of rolls in half while they are still stuck together. Pull apart the bottoms of the rolls and place them in the prepared dish. Fold up pieces of ham to fit the rolls and place them on the bottom halves of the rolls. Layer a piece of cheese next, then more ham, then more cheese. Place the tops of the rolls onto the sliders. Drizzle a teaspoon of the buttery mixture over the top of each roll. If you have some of this mixture left over, you can make a few more sliders. Otherwise, drizzle the rest of the mixture over the tops of the sliders.
  • If baking now, place in the oven and bake for about 20 minutes- until the sliders are warmed, the cheese is melted and the tops of the rolls are lightly browned. If baking tomorrow, cover the pan with a sheet of greased foil and refrigerate. The next day, bake for 20 minutes with the foil on, then remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 to 15 minutes. Serve immediately!
