This is a GREAT marinade for grilling or making kabobs. Use this marinade on all types of meat, chicken, fish, vegetables,. etc.

Number Of Ingredients 7

1/4 cup Bourbon
1/4 cup soy sauce
1/4 cup Dijon mustard
1/4 cup brown sugar
1 small yellow onion, chopped fine
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1 dash Worcestershire sauce

Steps:

  • Combine all ingredients in a small bowl.
  • Mix well and refrigerate.

Kentucky is famous for it's bourbon/whiskey (it is two different things) and we use it for everything from curing a cough (it is GREAT and I promise I'll post the recipe)to making someone's mood a little happier. This recipe is delicious and works well on grilled beef.

Yield 2-4 steaks

Number Of Ingredients 7

1/4 cup pineapple juice
2 tablespoons soy sauce
1 teaspoon Bourbon (I use more)
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/8 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 cup oil

Steps:

  • Combine all the ingredients in a bowl. Place your meat in a zip top bag and pour into the bag. Zip up and refrigerate overnight, turning the bag every so often.
  • Heat the grill to med-high heat and grill as usual. Remove the meat and discard the marinade. Cook as usual.

Number Of Ingredients 16

2 tablespoons butter
1/4 cup diced sweet onion
3/4 cup coarsely grated peeled apple (preferably a firm, sweet-fleshed variety such as Rome beauty)
3 tablespoons bourbon
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground cumin
2 cups ketchup
1/2 cup distilled white vinegar
1/2 cup cola
1/2 cup brown sugar
6 tablespoons pure maple syrup
1 tablespoon molasses
1 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
2 1/2 teaspoons liquid smoke

Steps:

  • In a small skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the onion to the skillet and sauté for 4 minutes. Add the grated apple, bourbon, salt, cayenne pepper, cinnamon, and cumin and sauté for an additional 2 to 3 minutes. Remove from the heat and set aside.
  • In a large nonreactive saucepan, add the remaining ingredients and mix well. Simmer over medium-low heat for 5 minutes, stirring frequently. Add the apple mixture and stir well. Simmer for 2 additional minutes and remove from the heat. After cooling, transfer to a tightly covered jar or plastic container and store refrigerated for up to 2 weeks.

  • Preheat oven to 350°. Place apples on a rimmed baking sheet and bake until skins begin to peel away and flesh is tender, 45–60 minutes. When cool enough to handle, remove skins, then core and remove seeds. Pulse flesh in a food processor until coarsely puréed.
  • Melt butter in a large pot over medium. Add apple purée, apple cider, cinnamon, and salt; scrape in vanilla seeds, reserving pod for another use. Bring to a simmer, reduce heat to low, and cook, stirring occasionally, until caramel colored and sauce holds the marks of a whisk, 15–20 minutes. Remove from heat and stir in bourbon.
