CHRISTMAS CUT-OUT COOKIES

Christmas Cut-Out Cookies image

This recipe has been in my family for generations. I remember the wonderful scent of the cookies baking drifting throughout the house. Now my sons and I carry on the tradition every Christmas. Hope you enjoy them.

Time 45m

Yield 48

Number Of Ingredients 8

1 cup shortening
1 cup light brown sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon anise extract
4 cups all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
½ cup milk

  • In a large bowl, cream together the shortening and sugar until smooth. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the anise extract.
