Low & Slow Oven Baked Ribs - Super Simple! image

This is truly the ONLY rib recipe you will ever need. Ribs simply don't get any better than this! You'll need a fork and knife to eat these, as they will FALL OFF THE BONE. . .tastier than you can imagine. And they couldn't be easier, just throw them in the oven and you are good to go. . .just make sure you have some of your favorite BBQ sauce on hand!

Categories     Pork

Time 4h20m

Yield 1/3 rack of ribs, 4-6 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 2

2 racks pork baby back ribs (our favorite are baby back ribs, but this works well with St. Louis style ribs too)
1 cup barbecue sauce

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 225 degrees.
  • Season your ribs with Dale's marinade, your favorite rib rub, grill seasoning, or simply salt and pepper.
  • Place ribs, meat side down, in baking dishes.
  • Cover the baking dishes with aluminum foil and place in the oven.
  • If you are using small baby back ribs, take out after 3.5 hours. If you are using regular baby back or St. Louis style ribs, then take out after 4 hours.
  • Drain off the drippings. Flip the ribs over using two spatulas (and an extra set of hands if you have them) so the meat side is up. Be careful, as they may be so tender they fall apart.
  • Put a layer of BBQ sauce on the ribs and return to the oven uncovered for an additional 20-30 minutes.
  • Remove from oven and serve them up with a side of potato salad and some baked beans.

ALL DAY RIBS

ALL DAY RIBS image

Justin and Chuck LOVE these ribs. These ribs cook all day in the oven

Provided by Ellen Schenker @schenkere

Categories     Other Main Dishes

Number Of Ingredients 9

5 pound(s) pork ribs with the slabs cut in half
2 - green bell pepper thinly sliced
2 - yellow bell peppers thinly sliced
2 - red bell pepper thinly sliced
2 large onion thinly sliced
6 clove(s) garlic grated
2 - jalapeno peppers finely chopped
- lawry's seasoned salt
- ground black pepper

Steps:

  • Season the ribs on both sides generously with the salt and pepper. Rub the grated garlic and jalapeno peppers onto the ribs (both sides) and layer the sliced peppers and onions on top of the ribs.
  • Wrap the ribs in foil (it is best to wrap each slab individually) and place in the refrigerator and marinate for 24 - 48 hours.
  • When ready to bake pre-heat oven to 275 degrees. Place the ribs, still wrapped in foil, on a heavy baking sheet. Leaving the ribs wrapped will keep the steam in and make them tender. Make sure not to place the ribs on the lower rack of oven and bake for 8 hours. The meat should easily pull away from the bone.

BARBECUE RIBS

Barbecue Ribs image

This recipe is easier than it sounds. I usually cook the ribs the day before and grill them for a quick dinner the next night. FYI: the sauce is much better after it is cooked. It is not a dipping sauce.

Time 3h15m

Yield 8

Number Of Ingredients 10

4 pounds pork spareribs
1 cup brown sugar
¼ cup ketchup
¼ cup soy sauce
¼ cup Worcestershire sauce
¼ cup rum
½ cup chile sauce
2 cloves garlic, crushed
1 teaspoon dry mustard
1 dash ground black pepper

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Cut spareribs into serving size portions, wrap in double thickness of foil, and bake for 1 1/2 hours. Unwrap, and drain drippings. (I usually freeze the drippings to use later in soups.) Place ribs in a large roasting pan.
  • In a bowl, mix together brown sugar, ketchup, soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, rum, chile sauce, garlic, mustard, and pepper. Coat ribs with sauce and marinate at room temperature for 1 hour, or refrigerate overnight.
  • Preheat grill for medium heat. Position grate four inches above heat source.
  • Brush grill grate with oil. Place ribs on grill, and cook for 30 minutes, basting with marinade.

  • Preheat the oven to 250 degrees F. In a roasting pan, combine the broth and vinegar. Add the ribs to the pan. Cover with foil and tightly seal. Bake 2 hours. Time 3h20m

Yield 4

Number Of Ingredients 11

½ cup ancho chile powder
¼ cup white sugar
¼ cup brown sugar
¼ cup salt
2 tablespoons freshly ground black pepper
1 tablespoon ground cumin
1 teaspoon dry mustard
1 teaspoon ground cayenne pepper
½ teaspoon ground dried chipotle pepper
1 rack baby back pork ribs
1 cup barbeque sauce

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 250 degrees F (120 degrees C).
  • Mix ancho chile powder, white sugar, brown sugar, salt, black pepper, cumin, dry mustard, cayenne pepper, and chipotle pepper in a small bowl until combined.
  • Place ribs meat-side down on aluminum foil. Prick back of rib rack several times with a knife.
  • Generously apply coating of dry rub to all sides of rib rack.
  • With rib rack meat-side down, fold foil around it to create a tight seal. Transfer to sheet pan.
  • Bake in preheated oven until tender and cooked through, about 2 hours. Remove and cool 15 minutes.
  • Increase oven temperature to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  • Open foil, drain and discard any accumulated juices and fat. Brush barbeque sauce on all sides of rack.
  • Place rack meat-side up and return to oven, leaving foil open. Bake for 10 minutes, remove from oven, and brush another layer of barbeque sauce on meat-side only. Repeat baking and brushing with sauce 4 more times, for a total of 50 minutes baking time.
  • Cut rack into individual rib segments and serve with more barbeque sauce.
