2 boxes Betty Crocker™ Suddenly Salad® classic pasta salad mix
3 cups frozen broccoli florets
2/3 cup Italian dressing
1/3 cup cold water
2 cups cut-up cooked chicken or ham
1 1/2 cups halved grape tomatoes

Steps:

  • Empty contents of pasta pouch (from salad mix) into 3-quart saucepan 2/3 full of boiling water. Gently boil uncovered 12 minutes, stirring occasionally and adding broccoli during last 2 minutes of cooking.
  • Meanwhile, in large bowl, stir contents of seasoning mix packet (from salad mix), the dressing and cold water until blended; set aside.
  • Drain pasta with broccoli; rinse with cold water. Shake to drain well. Stir pasta with broccoli, chicken and tomatoes into dressing mixture. Serve immediately, or refrigerate until serving.

1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil
1 teaspoon lemon juice

¼ teaspoon brown sugar
¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes

Steps:

  • Place potato cubes into a small pot and cover with salted water; bring to a boil. Reduce heat to medium-low and simmer until tender, 5 to 10 minutes. Drain and let cool, about 10 minutes.
  • Combine cooled potato, cabbage, pomegranate seeds, and carrot in a large bowl.
  • Whisk olive oil, lemon juice, garlic, salt, brown sugar, and red pepper flakes in a small bowl until well-mixed. Poured over potato mixture and toss to combine.

  • Heat 4 quarts water (salted if desired) to boiling in 6-quart Dutch oven. Cook pasta in boiling water 11 minutes. Add asparagus to boiling water; cook about 3 minutes or until asparagus is crisp-tender. Drain pasta and asparagus. Rinse with cold water; drain.
  • Mix dressing, basil and red pepper in large bowl. Add pasta, asparagus and remaining ingredients; toss.

1 lb box of bow tie pasta ( farfalle)
1 lb thick cut bacon. do not substitute.
1 head romaine lettuce hearts
3/4 c finely chopped red onion
1 pt grape tomatoes quartered
DRESSING
1 Tbsp parsley flakes
3/4 tsp chili powder
3/4 tsp onion powder
1/2 tsp garlic salt
2 clove garlic
2 1/2 tsp sugar
salt and black pepper to taste
1 1/4 c mayonaise ( not miracle whip)
1 tsp dijon mustard
1 Tbsp white vinegar
1 tsp worcestershire sauce
2 Tbsp milk

Steps:

  • 1. Cook bacon just until done and set aside. While the bacon is cooking. Prepare your pasta per the directions on the box. Drain pasta.
  • 2. place all of the ingredients for the dressing in a food processor. Process until smooth and creamy.
  • 3. once your bacon is cooled. Place bacon in food processor and pulse until bacon becomes tiny bits. Do not pulverize.
  • 4. finely chop your onion. quarter your grape tomatoes. chop the Romaine lettuce into small pieces. About 1/2 inch pieces.
  • 5. Blend the pasta with the dressing in a large bowl. Add in the tomatoes, lettuce bacon and onion. Toss to combine . chill for about two hours, or longer. Salt-and-pepper to taste. You may add additional mayonnaise to your liking. Serve and enjoy!

This goes over well at potlucks - when there's a choice of more than one pasta salad, this one usually goes first. Oddly enough, the leftovers make good soup, too! I just add the leftovers to some vegetable broth and canned tomatoes, and season it with more of the same spices that were in the recipe. This recipe originally came from allrecipes.com, but I have tweaked it in a way that suits me better. As always I have cut back on the oil and lime juice, so add more back in if it suits you. I love the amount of chili powder and cumin in this, but it may be a bit much for some so use less if you don't like those flavors as much as I do.

  • Gently stir in pasta and set aside.
  • Gently stir in corn, beans, green pepper, red pepper, onion, tomatoes and 1/2 of the cilantro leaves.

3 Roma tomatoes, seeded then chopped

2.25oz can sliced olives, drained
4oz jar McCormick Salad Supreme Seasoning OR 1 recipe homemade seasoning (see notes)
16oz bottle Ken's Zesty Italian Dressing OR 1 recipe homemade Italian Vinaigrette (see notes)

Steps:

  • Bring a large pot of water to a boil then add rotini and cook until tender. Drain then rinse under cold water until pasta is cold. Drain very well then add to a large mixing bowl.
  • To the cooled pasta add tomatoes, cucumber, pepperoni, black olives, 1/3 of the bottle of Italian Dressing, and 1/4 cup Salad Supreme Seasoning then mix to combine. Taste then add more dressing and/or Salad Supreme Seasoning if desired. Serve immediately or refrigerate for up to 2 hours.

There are many ways to make this however i haven't found one on here. I didn't look too hard but the way I make it is not listed. Feel free to add and remove the veggies you do not like or just use what you have on hand I'm doing the basic structure of how i do this for a cheap quick side dish to any meal. You can buy the suddenly salads and make it too. Please note: 2oz is the average sizes for pasta.. i suggest using your best judgement in how much you want to make I scale it up slightly so I can have left overs with left over chicken added in for a great lunch.

  • boil water add salt to water if you desire (i also add a bit of oil) add pasta once boiling. cook till pasta is to your liking.
  • While the pasta is cooking, Cut up your cucumber, tomatoes, pepper, parsley into bit sized pieces. Place them your dish to mix and serve.
  • drain the pasta, and run them over cold water. Drain more.
  • Check pasta to ensure it's cold add to bowl adding the Italian dressing mix and serve. (note always better the next day).

3/4 cup uncooked spiral shaped pasta
1 1/2 cups cherry tomatoes
1/2 cup chopped celery
1/2 cup chopped carrot
1/4 cup chopped sweet red pepper
1/4 cup chopped green bell pepper
3 tablespoons thin sliced green onions
1 1/2 cups Italian salad dressing
3/4 cup mayonnaise
1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
1/3 cup cubed mozzarella cheese
1 (2 1/4 ounce) can sliced black olives, drained

Steps:

  • Cook pasta according to package directions, rinse with cold water and drain.
  • Place in a bowl, add tomatoes, celery, carrots, peppers, onions and Italian salad dressing.
  • Cover and refrigerate for 4 hours or overnight.
  • Drain.
  • Just before serving, combine mayonnaise and Parmesan cheese, then stir in mozzarella and olives.
  • Gently fold into the pasta mixture.

A delicious and flavorful plant-based pasta salad using bean pasta. Italian dressing adds the zesty flavor to this colorful side dish.

Number Of Ingredients 8

1½ each Diced tomatoes (#10 cans, drained)
1 each Beans, great northern (#10 can, drained and rinsed)
1 pint Onions, green (diced, optional)
1½ pints Green bell peppers (diced, optional)
1½ pounds Carrots (shredded )
1.25 quarts Italian dressing ((1 quart, 1 cup), prepared )
8.75 pounds Bean pasta ((8 pounds, 12 ounces))
¾ cup Oil, olive

Steps:

  • Prepare bean pasta accordingly. Boil for approximately 10 minutes and added carrots the water. Cook another 3-5 minutes, until pasta is cooked through.
  • Rinse pasta with cool water and toss with olive oil in a large bowl.
  • Add tomatoes, green onions, green peppers, white beans and Italian dressing to the pasta. Combine thoroughly.
  • Cover and refrigerate until meal service.
