2 tbsp butter
1/2 small onion, chopped
1/2 can cream of mushroom soup
3 oz american cheese, diced
6 cups cabbage, shredded, cooked tender
1/2 tsp salt (optional)
1/4 tsp pepper (optional)
1 tbsp butter
1/8 cup dried breadcrumbs, plain

Steps:

  • 1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  • 2. In a large pan, fry the onion until tender.
  • 3. Next add the soup and cheese and mix until melted.
  • 4. Now add the cabbage and salt and pepper, mixing well; then pour the mixture into a non greased pan and set aside until needed.
  • 5. In a small frying pan melt the butter and add the breadcrumbs, stirring until golden brown.
  • 6. Sprinkle the breadcrumbs over the cabbage mixture evenly and bake, uncovered at 350ºF for 25 minutes.

3 to 4 c cabbage (leftover cooked)
1 medium chopped onion
4 heat and serve type sausage patties (crumbled)
1 can(s) (small) ceam of asparagus soup
1 1/2 c cooked rice
1/2 stick butter
1 1/2 c cheese, shredded (i subbed sliced american)
1/2 c milk
4 slice bread, toasted
1 1/2 tsp italian seasoning
1 tsp onion powder
1 Tbsp grated parmesan cheese

Steps:

  • 1. Saute the onion in 1/2 of the butter until it starts to brown a bit.
  • 2. Add the crumbled sausage, the soup,the milk, and 1/2 teaspoon italian seasoning.
  • 3. Add cooked cabbage and cooked rice and transfer to a buttered 9x13 casserole dish. layer cheese over the top.
  • 4. Make seasoned bread crumbs by putting the toast slices, parmesan cheese, the other teaspoon italian seasoning, the teaspoon onion powder and the remainder of the butter in a food processor and process for a few seconds. Sprinkle over cheese layer of casserole.
  • 5. Bake at 350 for 30 minutes to heat through.

2 cups uncooked elbow macaroni
2 cups diced corned beef, cooked
3 cups finely chopped cabbage
3 tablespoons butter
1/2 cup chopped onion
3 garlic cloves, minced
3 tablespoons flour
2 1/2-3 cups low-fat milk
6 ounces shredded swiss cheese, 1 1/2 cups
1 teaspoon prepared mustard
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1 teaspoon caraway seed
1/2 cup reduced-fat sour cream
1/2 cup crushed crouton
2 tablespoons butter, cut up (optional)

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350°F Lightly grease/spray a 13 x 9 baking dish and set aside.
  • Cook macaroni according to package; drain and place in a large bowl with the diced corned beef and chopped cabbage; set aside.
  • Meanwhile, melt butter in a saucepan.
  • Saute the chopped onion and garlic in the melted butter until tender.
  • Stir in the flour and stir until dissolved.
  • Gradually stir in the milk.
  • Stir in the cheese, mustard, salt, pepper and caraway seeds. Continue to cook, stirring often until cheese is melted and mixture thickens.
  • Remove from heat and stir in the sour cream.
  • Pour over the macaroni/beef/cabbage mixture and toss to evenly mix.
  • Pour into the prepared 13 x 9 dish.
  • Sprinkle with the crushed croutons. Dot with 2 tbsp cut up butter; optional.
  • COVER and bake for 25 minutes.
  • UNCOVER and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes.

1 large head cabbage, shredded (about 12 cups)
1 onion, chopped
6 tablespoons butter, divided
1 can (10-3/4 ounces) condensed cream of mushroom soup, undiluted
8 ounces Velveeta, cubed
Salt and pepper to taste
1/4 cup dry bread crumbs

Steps:

  • Cook cabbage in boiling water until tender; drain thoroughly. In a large skillet, saute onion in 5 tablespoons butter until tender. Stir in soup. Add cheese; stir until melted. Remove from the heat. Stir in the cabbage, salt and pepper. , Transfer to an ungreased 2-qt. baking dish. In a small skillet, melt remaining butter. This is my Mom's pork noodle casserole. The added sour cream gives it a little twist on the usual version. The added red pepper and corn give it color and flavor. You can add and subtract any vegetables in this versatile recipe. This is one of my favorite comfort food recipes.

2 cups egg noodles
cooking spray
3 tablespoons butter
¼ cup chopped onion
¼ cup chopped celery
¼ cup chopped carrots
¼ cup chopped red bell pepper
2 (10.75 ounce) cans condensed cream of chicken soup
½ cup sour cream, or more to taste
2 cups shredded Cheddar cheese
1 (8 ounce) can whole kernel corn, drained
3 cups cubed cooked pork
1 teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
½ cup dry bread crumbs

Steps:

  • Fill a large pot with lightly salted water and bring to a rolling boil over high heat. Once the water is boiling, stir in the egg noodles, and return to a boil. Cook the pasta uncovered, stirring occasionally, until the noodles have cooked through, but are still firm to the bite, about 5 minutes. Drain well in a colander set in the sink.
  • Preheat an oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Spray a 9x13-inch baking pan with cooking spray.
  • Melt the butter in a skillet over medium heat. Stir in the onion, celery, carrots, and red bell pepper; cook and stir until the onion has softened and turned translucent, about 5 minutes. Stir in the noodles, cream of chicken soup, sour cream, Cheddar cheese, corn, and cooked pork, then season with salt and black pepper. Transfer mixture into the prepared baking dish. Sprinkle bread crumbs on top.

1 lb ground beef
1 large onion, chopped
1/2 cup uncooked instant rice
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1 (10 1/2 ounce) can condensed tomato soup
1/4 cup water
4 cups coleslaw mix or 4 cups shredded cabbage
1 1/2 cups cheddar cheese, shredded

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
  • Brown beef and onion in a large skillet; drain.
  • Add beef back to skillet and stir in rice, salt pepper, soup and water; mix well.
  • Place coleslaw mix in an ungreased 2 quart casserole dish.
  • Spoon beef mixture over coleslaw.
  • Cover and bake about 45 minutes.
  • Uncover, top with cheese and pop back in oven for another 10 minutes uncovered or until cheese is melted and casserole is hot and bubbly.
