- Heat the oven to 200 degrees F. Have a baking sheet ready. Heat the orange juice and sugar in a saucepan over medium-high heat. Bring to a boil then reduce the heat to a simmer. Let the sauce cook for 15 minutes or until it is reduced to 1 1/4 cups. Combine the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt in a large bowl. Mix well. Beat the eggs in another medium-sized bowl. Whisk in the eggs, Kahlua, and melted butter. Slowly stir the egg mixture into the flour mixture and mix until it forms a smooth batter. Heat 1 teaspoon of shortening in a skillet over medium heat. Add 1/4 cup of the pancake batter to the skillet. Cook for 2-3 minutes or until the top of the pancake forms bubbles. Turn the pancake over and cook for 2-3 additional minutes or until cooked and lightly browned. Transfer the pancake to the baking sheet and keep warm in the oven. Repeat with the remaining pancake batter. Serve the pancakes with the orange syrup, nuts, chocolate shavings, whipped cream, and fresh fruit, if desired.
YUMMY KAHLUA PANCAKES
These are wonderful tasting. We loved the taste the Kahlua and hint of lemon gave to these rich and filling pancakes. I tested these on all of my family and changed some things around according to their comments. The last were my DD and her BF and they gave them a thumbs up. This makes 12 6" pancakes. - Soak raisins in warm water for 20-30 minutes.
- In a medium bowel mix together flours, baking powder, baking soda, salt and brown sugar.
- In a large bowel, using an electric mixer, beat eggs until frothy.
- Add vanilla yogurt, butter and Kahlua and mix well.
- Add flour mixture to the yogurt mixture and beat on medium speed just until blended and smooth.
- Place shredded apples in the microwave for 60 seconds.
- Drain raisins on paper towels.
- Fold raisins and apples into batter and combine well.
- If batter is too thick, add a little more yogurt or more Kahlua.
- Heat griddle to medium heat (about 350 - 400 F).
- Spoon batter, ½ cup at a time, onto hot griddle and spread out to approximately 6-7 Inch pancakes.
- Cook for 5-6 minutes or until bubbles form on top.
- Flip and cook for another 5-6 minutes or until golden brown.
- Serve with toasted pecans and maple syrup. (Some of only used powdered sugar).

This is my favorite recipe for pancakes. Over time I tweaked a recipe I found, till i got it just right! It makes fluffy pancakes with that little bit of extra from the vanilla and cinnamon! These pancakes are especially good with your favorite berry syrup.

- Whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt in a bowl. Whisk in the milk, egg, 3 tablespoons vegetable oil, and vanilla extract until only a few lumps remain. Let the batter stand for 5 full minutes for extra fluffiness.
- Heat a skillet or griddle over medium heat, and brush with 1 teaspoon vegetable oil. When the oil shimmers, slowly pour about 1/4 cup of batter into the hot pan. Cook until bottom is browned, about 2 minutes, then flip and cook until the center of the pancake is set and the other side is browned, about 2 more minutes. Keep warm until serving.

- Set oven to 350°F.
- Set oven rack to second lowest position.
- Generously grease and flour a bundt pan.
- In a large bowl combine the cake mix with pudding mix, sour cream, oil, water, eggs, Kahlua and cinnamon; beat until well blended.
- Stir chocolate chips and walnuts.
- Pour into a greased and floured bundt pan pan.
- Bake at 350°F for 45-60 minutes, or until the cake tests done.
- For the glaze; mix confectioners sugar starting with 2 tablespoons Kahlua until smooth adding in more Kahlua until desired consistency is achieved.
- Pour over cake.

- For the cake: Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease and flour two 9 inch round cake pans.
- Stir together flour, sugar, cocoa, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a large mixing bowl, making sure there are no lumps.
- Add eggs, milk, oil and vanilla and beat with an electric hand mixer for about 2 minutes or until smooth.
- Stir in the boiling water. Don't worry if the batter is thin. It's supposed to be that way.
- Pour the batter evenly into the pans and bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Once the cakes have cooled, use a fork to poke holes in the tops of the cakes and baste with the coffee liqueur.
- For the filling: In a sauce pan, combine sugar, flour, butter, milk and yolks.
- Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until thick.
- Remove from heat and stir in salt, vanilla and pecans.
- Once the cake and the filling have cooled, spread a thick layer between the cakes.
- For the frosting: Cream together the sugar, cocoa and butter with an electric hand mixer.
- Beat in the cream and vanilla.
- Add small amounts of hot water until desired consistency is reached.
- Spread over entire cake.

- Whisk butter, sugar, salt and egg in medium bowl. Whisk in milk and Irish cream liqueur until combined.
- Add flour and baking powder to the bowl, then stir until just about smooth. (Batter will still have some lumps, do not over mix.).
- In a large non-stick skillet over medium-low heat, heat 1 tablespoon butter. Drop as many 1/4-cup portions into the skillet as will fit without crowding, then gently spread out into a disc shape. When bubbles appear on the surface, flip the pancakes over and continue to cook until done, about 1-2 minutes more.
- Repeat with remaining batter.
- Serve warm with butter and syrup.
