THE CHAMP'S SAUSAGE WITHOUT GUILT (GEORGE FOREMAN GRILL)

Number Of Ingredients 10

1/3 c. finely minced onion
1 c. finely snipped dry apples
1 c. seasoned bread crumbs
2 Tbsp. snipped fresh parsley
1 tsp salt optional
1/2 tsp crushed sage
1 tsp grnd nutmeg
1 tsp black pepper
1 pch cayenne pepper
1/2 lb lean grnd skinless turkey breast

Steps:

  • In a medium bowl, combine the egg white, onion, dry or possibly fresh apples, bread crumbs, parsley, salt, if using, sage, nutmeg, black pepper, and cayenne pepper. Add in the grnd turkey and mix well. Shape the mix into eight 2-inch wide patties. Prepare the Grilling Machine Place the patties on the Grilling Machine and cook for 3 to 4 min, or possibly till the meat is no longer pink. NOTES : Start your day with a sausage patty which's good for you. This moist, flavorful Turkey sausage, served with a country style biscuit makes a complete breakfast meal. Enjoy the taste of homemade breakfast sausage without the guilt. This hearty recipe used ground chicken in place of regular pork sausage for a lighter spin on the favorite breakfast fare. -Mary Webb, Longwood, Florida

Number Of Ingredients 8

2 tablespoons chopped onion
3/4 teaspoon plus 2 teaspoons olive oil, divided
1/2 cup grated peeled tart apple
1 tablespoon minced fresh sage or 3/4 teaspoon rubbed sage
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon pepper
Dash ground cinnamon
1/4 pound ground chicken or turkey

Steps:

  • In a nonstick skillet, saute onion in 3/4 teaspoon oil until crisp-tender. Add apple; cook until tender, about 5 minutes. Let stand until cool enough to handle. Stir in seasonings. Crumble chicken over apple mixture and mix well. Shape into four 1/2-in.-thick patties., In a skillet, cook patties in remaining oil over medium heat or until juices run clear.

This recipe came with my George Foreman Grill. I haven't tried it yet, but I am positing it for safekeeping so I can use it for breakfast or something one day.

Number Of Ingredients 11

1 slightly beaten egg white
1/4 cup seasoned bread crumbs
1/3 cup onion, finely chopped
2 tablespoons fresh parsley, snipped
1/2 cup red deliciouus apple, finely chopped
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon ground sage
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1/2 lb ground turkey breast

Steps:

  • In a medium size mixing bowl, combine the egg white, onion, apples, breadcrumbs, parsley, salt, sage, nutmeg, black pepper, and cayenne pepper. Add the ground turkey and mix well.
  • Shape the mixture in eight or nine 2-inch wide patties.
  • Preheat the Grilling Machine and place the patties on the grill two at a time. Close the lid. Cook for 5 min or until the meat is no longer pink and the juices run clear, turning once or twice.
