These croutons are soft and good. I hate croutons, but I love these!

Steps:
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil.
- Melt butter in a pot over medium heat.
- Cut each bread slice into 16 cubes; add bread cubes and garlic powder to melted butter. Stir to coat. Transfer coated bread cubes to the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake in the preheated oven until crispy, 8 to 10 minutes.

- In an ungreased 13-in. x 9-in. baking pan, combine the butter, oil and seasonings. Heat in a 300° oven until butter is melted. Remove from the oven; stir to combine. , Add bread cubes and toss to coat. Bake for 10-15 minutes or until lightly browned, stirring frequently. Cool. Store in the refrigerator in an airtight container.

I loved the croutons at 'The Outback' so much, that I created a recipe that I feel has a similair taste, Now our guests beg for my ceaser salad just for the croutons!!!

Steps:
- Cube Bread (large) 1 Slice makes approx 12 - Set Aside.
- Melt butter, garlic and seasoning in microwave for about 45 seconds.
- Add Parmesan cheese to butter mixture.
- Toast bread cubes in a toaster oven on Dark, or in the oven at 375 degrees for about 7 or 8 mins until browned.
- Allow your cubes to cool for a just a moment before tossing them in the butter mixture.

HERBED GARLIC AND PARMESAN CROUTONS

- In a small saucepan combine the garlic, the oregano, the basil, the thyme, 1/2 teaspoon of the salt, the pepper, and the oil and simmer the mixture for 5 minutes, and discard the garlic. In a bowl toss the bread cubes with the oil mixture, spread them in a jelly-roll pan, and bake them in ht e middle of a preheated 350°F oven for 8 minutes. Sprinkle the croutons with the Parmesan and bake them for 7 minutes more, or until they are golden. Sprinkle the croutons with the additional salt and let them cool. The croutons keep in an airtight container for 1 week. Serve the croutons as a topping for tossed green salad.

- Preheat oven to 300. Line a baking sheet with a silicone baking mat.
- Stir olive oil and garlic together in a bowl. Let sit at room temperature until flavors are infused, about 3 hours.
- Place bread cubes in a large bowl. Pour garlic oil through a strainer onto the bread; toss to coat bread with oil. Add 1/2 cup Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese, Italian seasoning, paprika, black pepper, salt, and cayenne pepper; toss to coat. Spread bread cubes out in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 15 minutes. Turn croutons and bake 15 minutes more. Push croutons together with a spatula so that they are in a compact rectangle on the baking sheet and no longer spread out; sprinkle remaining 1/4 cup cheese over the top. Bake until cheese is melted and the bread is crispy and crunchy, 10 to 15 minutes more.

FOREVERMAMA'S BEST CROUTONS EVER!
These croutons originally were part of a minestrone soup recipe. The soup was nothing to write home about and not a keeper but the croutons were to die for! I've doubled and quadrupled this recipe because my kids can eat these as if they were potato chips. It is truly scrumptious especially over a "good" soup or salad. This is a great way to use up stale bread.

- Heat olive oil in a large saute pan over medium-high heat,
- Add the garlic and cook for 3 minutes, to flavor the oil, being careful not to burn the garlic. (garlic may be removed or left in, up to individual taste. But if left in be very careful not to burn garlic).
- Add the bread cubes and toss to coat. Saute until golden brown on all sides and crisped up.
- Season lightly with salt.
- Sprinkle parmesan over hot croutons of desired.

THE BEST EVER CROUTONS
These croutons are crunchy on the outside and chewy on the inside and the best I've ever had. One of the restaurants (Ruby Tuesday's) we go to told me that their croutons were deep fried, so I just had to try my hand at it. Well, it worked and now when I want to indulge just a little I whip up a batch to eat on a salad, my favorite soup or just munch on them with some homemade ranch dressing. Either way, I have satisfied my own craving for something so wonderful I am content for awhile. haha Delicious crunchy/chewy bites that you can add for a finishing touch to a special meal.

- Cut up your pumperkickel bread in 1 inch squares or a little larger if you want. I only deep fried them for 10 seconds or less. You want them to be crunchy on the outside but chewy on the inside.
