ROASTED PORK LOIN WITH SWEET TANGY SAUCE
This roast is so tender and juicy and has a sweet tangy sauce that will melt in your mouth.I got this from another website and tweaked it to my likings. I roast this is a glass baking dish on top of an onion cut into 4 pieces. If you are preparing a larger roast just double the ingredients. The sauce is also good on rice if you'd like. Prep time does not include marinating time. I plate this with the onions that were in the bottom-oh so good!

BBQ PULLED PORK SANDWICHES (OVEN RECIPE)
BBQ pulled pork is such a simple recipe to make in the oven that you'll never go back to using the crockpot for pulled pork again! It's brined then rubbed with a smoky mustard mixture and then sprinkled with spices before being roasted low and slow. The result is a phenomenal pulled pork recipe that can be used for sandwiches, nachos, or taquitos!

Steps:
- To make the pork: Dissolve 1 cup salt, ½ cup sugar, and 3 tablespoons liquid smoke in 4 quarts cold water in large container. Submerge pork in brine, cover with plastic wrap, and refrigerate for 2 hours.
- Meanwhile, in a small prep bowl, stir together the mustard and remaining 2 tsp liquid smoke; set aside. In a second small prep bowl, mix the black pepper, paprika, remaining 2 tbsp sugar, remaining 2 tsp salt, and cayenne together; set aside. During the last 15 minutes that the pork is brining, adjust oven rack to the lower-middle position and preheat oven to 325° F.
- Remove pork from brine and dry thoroughly with paper towels. Rub the mustard mixture over entire surface of each piece of pork. Sprinkle entire surface of each piece with all of the spice mixture, gently pressing the spice mixture into the mustard with your fingers. Place pork on wire rack set inside foil-lined rimmed 12×18-inch baking sheet. Place a piece of parchment paper over pork, then cover with a sheet of heavy duty aluminum foil (heavy duty foil will cover the sheet in one large, neat sheet), sealing the edges to prevent moisture from escaping. Roast the pork for 3 hours.
- Remove pork from oven; remove and discard foil and parchment. Carefully pour off liquid in bottom of baking sheet into a heat-proof bowl or fat can, discard. Return the pork to oven and cook, uncovered, until well browned, tender, and internal temperature registers 200° F on instant-read thermometer, about 1 to 1 ½ hours. Transfer the pork to serving dish, tent loosely with foil, and let rest for 20 minutes.
- To make the sauce: While the pork rests, whisk the first six ingredients for the sauce in a medium bowl. Add salt and pepper to taste.
- To serve: Pull the pork into shredded bite-size pieces with two forks. Toss with 1 cup of the sauce and season with salt and pepper as needed. Serve the pork hot, passing remaining sauce separately. Transfer any remaining sauce to a resealable container and store in the refrigerator for up to 4 weeks.

PORK WITH TANGY MUSTARD SAUCE
Meet the Cook: About any side dish would accompany this entree well. In summer, we like to have our homegrown sweet corn and cheesy potatoes hot off the grill, a cold salad and green vegetables alongside it. If you ever have leftovers - it's rare that we do! - the pork would be good in a breakfast casserole or omelet. -Ginger Johnson, Farmington, Illinois

PORK CHOPS WITH TANGY HONEY SAUCE
These sweet and tangy pork chops are flavorful and very easy to make. I pour the marinade over the pork chops in a freezer bag, then freeze them for future use. I take them out of the freezer the night before I want to serve them, and thaw in the refrigerator. By dinner time, they are ready to bake, making a quick and delicious meal!

ROAST PORK WITH DUCK SAUCE ON GARLIC BREAD
This was the specialty of the landmark "Crossroads" Pizzeria in South Fallsburg, N.Y. It's the place where Catskill Resort workers and guests, "up for the whole season," would go for pizza or roast pork sandwiches when they needed a break from the Jewish cooking at the Hotels. I make the garlic bread with pastrami seasoning.

SWEET AND TANGY SPARE RIBS
A friend once called me, asking for a meat recipe. "It has to be amazingly good and incredibly easy," she said. "I'm kidding," she then added, but I knew she really wasn't. And I had just the thing. Whenever I meet her husband, he makes sure to thank me, AGAIN, for "those awesome ribs." Where does it say that great dishes have to be long, hard, and complicated? READ MORE

12 SUBSTITUTES FOR DUCK SAUCE | CUISINEVAULT
From cuisinevault.com

- Plum sauce. Some people think plum and duck sauces are the same thing, but we explain how they differ here. You’ll find that plum sauce is less tangy and has a more complex flavor profile thanks to the addition of spices like ginger.
- Sweet and sour sauce. If you love the punchy flavors that come with duck sauce, then why not take it up a notch. Sweet and sour sauce is an excellent substitute, but it’s often tangier and sweeter than duck sauce.
- Sweet chili sauce. People who like sweet sauces without the tanginess will probably enjoy sweet chili sauce more. It’s much spicier than duck sauce as it has chili as one of its key ingredients.
- Hoisin sauce. If you’ve ever seen Peking Duck hanging in the front window of a Chinese grocer or restaurant, you’ve seen hoisin sauce in action. It’s this ingredient that’s often smeared over the duck as a glaze.
- Char Siu. Char siu is salty, sweet, and spicy all in one mouthful. For barbecued meat like pork or chicken, this is an excellent alternative to duck sauce.
- Oyster sauce. Oyster sauce has a salty-savory flavor with a little sweetness and spice. One of its ingredients is oyster extract so it’s full of umami flavor and has a mild seafood undertone.
- Teriyaki sauce. Teriyaki uses base ingredients like soy sauce, honey, brown sugar, and mirin to bring salty-sweet flavor to food. It’s a darker, runnier sauce that doesn’t have the same levels of sugar and fruity flavor that duck sauce has.
- Ponzu sauce. Ponzu is a dark, acidic sauce that’s a combination of sweet, salty, and tangy. Its texture is less jam-like than duck sauce and it’s darker, a lot like soy sauce.
- Soy sauce. Most kitchens have a bottle of soy sauce on hand, so if none of the above choices appeal then soy is an option. Its flavor profile and texture are much different.
- Chutney. Chutneys come in many varieties, but if you’ve got a jar made from apricots then you’re onto a winning replacement. Other suitable chutneys include apple, mango, or peach.
