4 bone-in pork loin chops
1/8 teaspoon pepper
2 medium onions, chopped
2 celery ribs, chopped
1 large green pepper, sliced
1 can (14-1/2 ounces) no-salt-added stewed tomatoes
1/2 cup ketchup
2 tablespoons cider vinegar
2 tablespoons brown sugar
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1 teaspoon beef bouillon granules
3 tablespoons cornstarch
2 tablespoons cold water
Hot cooked rice or mashed potatoes, optional

Steps:

  • Place chops in a 3-qt. slow cooker; sprinkle with pepper. Add the onions, celery, green pepper and tomatoes. Combine the ketchup, vinegar, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, lemon juice and bouillon; pour over vegetables. Cover and cook on low 5-6 hours or until meat is tender. , Mix cornstarch and water until smooth; stir into liquid in slow cooker. Cover and cook on high about 30 minutes or until thickened. If desired, serve with rice or mashed potatoes.

400g/14oz can chopped tomatoes
4 tbsp clear honey
2 tbsp tomato ketchup
2 tbsp dark soy sauce
½ tsp hot smoked paprika
4 thick pork chops (each about 170g/6oz)
ground black pepper
boiled rice, to serve
cooked corn on the cob, to serve (optional)

Steps:

  • Mix the tomatoes, honey, ketchup, soy sauce and smoked paprika thoroughly in a slow cooker. Season with ground black pepper.
  • Add the pork and turn to coat in the sauce. Cover and cook on low for 8-10 hours, or until the sauce is thick and glossy and the pork is tender. Serve with cooked rice and corn on the cob, if you like.

4 boneless pork loin chops (about 1 inch thick)
Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper
3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1/4 cup whole-grain mustard
2 tablespoons honey
1 small shallot
1 large Pink Lady or Fuji apple
Cooked grits or buttered rice, for serving, optional

Steps:

  • Lay the pork chops on a rimmed baking sheet and sprinkle both sides of each chop with salt and pepper. Put the flour on a small plate. Coat both sides of the chops with the flour and put back on the baking sheet to come to room temperature while you prepare the remaining ingredients.
  • Add the mustard, honey and 1 tablespoon of water to a 4- to 6-quart slow cooker and stir to combine. Cut the shallot into rings and add to the cooker, separating the rings. Core and cut the apple into 1/2-inch chunks and add to the cooker with 1/4 teaspoon salt. Stir to combine the shallots and apples with the sauce. Spread the mixture in an even layer and lay the pork chops on top, overlapping as needed.
  • Cover and cook on low until the pork is cooked through, about 3 hours. Transfer the chops to a large plate and top with the warm apples and sauce. Serve with creamy grits or buttered rice if desired.

These are the most tender chops I have ever had! I usually cook some apples to go on top of the chops and use the sauce in this recipe to put over rice. I found this recipe in one of my favorite Cookbooks 'Fix It and Forget It.' Hope you enjoy!

5 -6 center-cut pork loin chops
3 tablespoons oil
1 medium onion, diced
1 medium green pepper, diced
1 (8 ounce) can tomato sauce
3 -4 tablespoons brown sugar
1 tablespoon vinegar
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
1 -2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

Steps:

  • Brown chops in oil in skillet.
  • Transfer to slow cooker.
  • Discard oil.
  • Combine then add remaining ingredients to cooker.
  • Cover.
  • Cook on Low 8-10 hours.
  • Serve over rice.

These sweet and tangy pork chops smell great as they cook all day and are a wonderful meal to come home to. Other cuts of pork would work in this recipe as well. Try some economical pork steak or a roast. I have even done this with strips and cubes and served over white rice. If you are salt sensitive you can use low sodium soy sauce. I use chenin blanc for the wine or a good chardonnay. Reisling might be a great sweeter wine to try here! A salad or veggie rounds out this meal really well.

2 garlic cloves, minced
1/4 cup soy sauce (low-sodium is fine)
1/4 cup white wine (NOT cooking wine)
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)

Steps:

  • Spray crock pot with cooking spray and place all ingredients inside.
  • REVISED: Some reviews stated that the meat was dry and cooked too long so I am revising the cooking time to low for 6 hours or until chops are tender. My crock is old and probably cooks slower- sorry!
  • Remove chops and thicken liquid in pot with a slurry of 1 TABLEspoon cornstarch mixed with 1 TABLEspoon water.
  • Return chops to pot and cook until liquid has thickened.

¼ cup ketchup
¼ cup apple juice
2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
2 tablespoons red wine vinegar
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon chili powder
1 teaspoon hot sauce (such as Frank's Red Hot ®)
½ teaspoon kosher salt
6 pork chops

Steps:

  • Mix ketchup, apple juice, olive oil, vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, chili powder, hot sauce, and kosher salt together in a bowl; pour marinade into a resealable plastic bag. Add pork chops to the marinade and seal bag. Marinate for at least 30 minutes.
  • Preheat an outdoor grill for medium-high heat and lightly oil the grate.
  • Remove pork chops from marinade and place on the hot grill; discard used marinade. Cook until pork chops are no longer pink in the center, 5 to 10 minutes per side. An instant-read thermometer inserted into the center should read at least 145 degrees F (65 degrees C).
