Number Of Ingredients 4

1 1/2 tablespoons packed brown sugar
Rounded 1/4 teaspoon cayenne
Rounded 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1 lb thick-cut bacon (12 slices)

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350°F.
  • Stir together brown sugar, cayenne, and black pepper in a small bowl.
  • Arrange bacon slices in l layer on a large broiler pan and bake in middle of oven (or upper third of oven if baking with eggs) 20 minutes. Turn slices over and sprinkle evenly with spiced sugar. Continue baking until bacon is crisp and brown, 15 to 20 minutes more, then transfer to paper towels to drain.

1 package (12 ounces) bacon strips, chopped
1/2 cup chopped pecans
4 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
2 cups mayonnaise
1 small onion, chopped
2 tablespoons finely chopped sweet red pepper
1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper
Assorted crackers

Steps:

  • Cook bacon until crisp; drain. Meanwhile, in a large bowl, combine the next 6 ingredients. Stir in bacon. Serve with crackers.

1/3 cup apricot preserves
1/2 tsp. hot pepper sauce
4 slices cooked OSCAR MAYER Bacon, crumbled
1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro

Steps:

  • Spread cream cheese onto bottom of pie plate.
  • Mix preserves and hot sauce until blended; spread over cream cheese.
  • Sprinkle with bacon and cilantro.

  • Cook the bacon over medium-high heat in a cast iron skillet until most of the fat has been reduced and the bacon is almost crispy but still chewy, about 10 minutes. Transfer the bacon to a plate Drain most of the excess grease, reserving 2 tablespoons in the pan.
  • Add the onions and garlic to the skillet with the reserved bacon grease and cook for 10-15 minutes, stirring often, until softened and browned.
  • Add the bacon, tomato, brown sugar, water, smoked paprika, and pepper to the pan with the onions. Stir and bring to a simmer, then reduce the heat to low and cook for 30-35 minutes, stirring occasionally until the liquid is reduced and thickened enough to coat the back of a spoon. Remove from the heat and stir in the balsamic vinegar.
