Here's what you need: salt, pepper, paprika, chili powder, rack of pork ribs, honey, soy sauce, garlic cloves
Provided by Adam Bianchi
Categories Dinner
Yield 6 servings
Number Of Ingredients 8
Steps:
- In a small bowl, mix together the salt, pepper, paprika, and chili powder. Season the ribs evenly with the mixture, making sure to rub it in on all sides.
- Add the honey, soy sauce, and garlic to a large slow cooker. Transfer the ribs to slow cooker and turn them over in the sauce until coated. Position the ribs so they are standing up, with the meatier side down, and so the meat is against the walls of the slow cooker, with the bone sides facing in. Cover and cook on high for 4 hours, or low for 7-8 hours. Check after the allotted time to make sure the meat is cooked through and tender.
- Remove the ribs and transfer to cutting board. Cut between the bones to separate into individual ribs. Serve with additional sauce from the slow cooker, as needed
- Enjoy!

CROCK-POT SWEET CHILI RECIPE
This is a sweet chili, specifically made to not be spicy and be sweet. We served it at a local chili bake off and I think the taste testers were quite happy that they had at least one chili that wasn't making their tongue burn.

SWEET AND SPICY ASIAN BARBECUED RIBS

Steps:
- Preheat a grill to approximately 250 degrees F.
- Lightly season the ribs with the five-spice powder so it forms a light crust. Put the ribs, meat side up, over an area of the grill with indirect heat. Let the ribs cook for 2 hours.
- While the ribs are cooking, prepare the barbecue sauce. Heat a medium saucepan over medium heat. Add the bacon and cook slowly to render its fat, about 4 to 5 minutes. Discard the particles with a slotted spoon, leaving the bacon fat in the pan. Reduce the heat to low, add the shallot and garlic, and saute until fragrant and slightly caramelized, 2 to 3 minutes. Pour in the light soy sauce and rice vinegar. Allow the liquid to deglaze the pan for a moment, and then whisk vigorously to scrape any brown bits from the bottom of the pan. Add the hoisin sauce and ketchup, and continue whisking together until well incorporated. Simmer the glaze for 2 to 3 minutes. Stir in the honey, apricot preserves and brown sugar, 1 tablespoon at a time. Simmer for an additional 2 to 3 minutes. Add the ginger, whisk and keep simmering for 2 to 3 minutes. Whisk in the chili sauce and let the sauce simmer for a final 8 to 10 minutes. Remove the pan from heat. Reserve 1/4 cup of the sauce in a separate bowl.
- After the ribs have cooked for 1 hour, begin basting them with the barbecue sauce. Coat them well once every 15 minutes, until the ribs reach an internal temperature registers 165 degrees F on an instant-read thermometer. Remove the ribs from the grill to a cutting board and let rest, tented with aluminum foil for 5 minutes. Slice the ribs between each bone and arrange them on a serving dish. Drizzle with the reserved glaze and garnish with the chopped green onions.

This is my recipe for another great Barbeque rib. You can halve the sauce recipe and use to baste a rack of ribs, or double and make a finger licking large batch of country ribs. I made 4 pounds and not a rib left. Enjoy!

LIME SPARERIBS
A honey mustard lime sauce coats these baked ribs. Scrumptious! When determining the number of servings, take into account the fact that most people actually like to have a rack of ribs to themselves. Accordingly, 4 pounds of spareribs might serve 4 or 6 people, depending on the serving size!

Steps:
- In a medium bowl, combine the ketchup, honey, sauce from the chipotles, chipotle chiles, garlic, olive oil, Dijon mustard, apple cider vinegar, Worcestershire, Maggi, black pepper and oregano. Mix well.
- Line a large roasting pan with parchment paper or aluminum foil. Pour some sauce on the bottom of the pan, put in the ribs and pour the remaining sauce on top. Cover with foil, sealing the entire top of the pan, and marinate for 30 minutes up to 24 hours. If marinating more than 30 minutes, keep the ribs refrigerated.
- When ready to cook the meat, remove it from the refrigerator. Preheat the oven to 350°F. Slip the pan with the ribs into the oven and roast for 1 1/2 hours. Take the ribs from the oven and carefully remove the aluminum foil, taking care not to be burned by the steam. Spoon the thickened sauce from the bottom of the pan on top of the ribs and place them back in the oven to roast another 20 to 30 minutes, or until they are beautifully browned and sticky. Remove from the oven, let rest, then slice into 2- to 3-bone pieces and pile on a platter.
- Alternatively, after you remove the foil, you can finish off the ribs on the grill at medium heat, for about 15 minutes.
SPICY SOY RIBS WITH SWEET AND SOUR SLAW
Steps:
- For the ribs: In a large bowl, combine ketchup, chili sauce, honey, soy sauce, 5-spice and rice wine. Then add the ribs. Marinate the ribs for 1 hour in the refrigerator, or as long as overnight.
- Preheat a grill or grill pan over medium-high heat, making sure the grates have been brushed clean and lightly oiled before cooking.
- Remove the ribs from the marinade and reserve the marinade. Place the ribs on the grill and cook for 20 minutes, turning every 5 minutes. Place the marinade into a saucepot and bring to a boil for 5 minutes. Once boiled, continually baste the ribs as they are turned and until they are cooked through.
- For the slaw: While the ribs are cooking, in a medium bowl, add the cilantro, radishes, carrots, chiles, cabbage and onions, and toss together.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the mayo, lemon juice and honey, and then add to the slaw mixture and toss to coat. Season with salt and pepper. Serve immediately with hot ribs for the perfect BBQ treat!

- Place racks in upper and lower thirds of oven; preheat to 300°. Pat ribs dry with paper towels. Sprinkle evenly on all sides with mushroom powder, patting to adhere, then rub miso all over to lightly and evenly coat. Wrap each rack in a double layer of foil, crimping edges to seal. Divide foil packets between 2 rimmed baking sheets (2 packets per sheet) and bake until meat is fork-tender at the thickest part but not falling off the bones, 2–2½ hours. Let cool slightly, then unwrap.
- While the ribs are baking, heat oil and chiles in a medium saucepan over medium-low, stirring often, until chiles darken in color a few shades and are fragrant, about 3 minutes. Add onion and salt and continue to cook, stirring occasionally, until onion is softened and translucent, about 5 minutes. Add garlic and ginger and cook, stirring, until fragrant, about 1 minute. Add gochujang, tamari, and vinegar and cook until thickened slightly, about 5 minutes. Remove pan from heat and stir in honey.
- Transfer mixture to a blender and purée until smooth and slightly glossy. Pour glaze into a small bowl or airtight container and let cool.
- Heat broiler. Line a clean rimmed baking sheet with foil and lightly coat with nonstick spray. Cut each rack in half (this will allow you to puzzle all the ribs onto the sheet) and arrange, meaty side up, in a single layer on prepared baking sheet; brush with glaze. Broil ribs until glaze is set and slightly darkened in color (watch them closely so that the glaze doesn’t burn), about 4 minutes.

- Pat both sides of slabs dry with paper towels. Using a sharp knife, remove thin membrane from back of each by slicing into it and pulling it off with a paper towel. (This will make ribs more tender and allow meat to absorb the rub better.) Combine salt, cumin, dry mustard, and cayenne in a small bowl; rub evenly over both sides of slabs, and let stand at room temperature 30 minutes. Whisk together sweet chili sauce, mustard, honey, vinegar, and soy sauce.
- Prepare a charcoal fire on bottom grate of a large charcoal grill. When coals are covered with gray ash, push to 1 side of grill. Maintain an inside temperature of about 300°F. (If the temperature drops below 300°F, add more charcoal as needed.) Brush both sides of ribs with 1/4 cup sweet chili sauce mixture. Place ribs on top oiled grate of grill directly over hot coals, and grill, covered, 10 minutes per side. Brush both sides of ribs again with 1/4 cup sweet chili sauce, and place on grate over side without the coals. Grill, covered, 40 minutes.
- Brush both sides again with 1/4 cup sweet chili sauce mixture, and grill, covered, until meat is tender to the touch and pulls away from bones on the ends, about 2 hours, brushing with 1/4 cup sweet chili sauce after 1 hour. Remove ribs from grill, and brush with remaining sweet chili sauce mixture.

- Before slicing the ribs into smaller pieces, check the bone side of the ribs and remove any membrane (or silverskin) that’s covering the bones (it’s a relatively thick white layer). The silverskin can turn leathery once cooked and it can prevent the marinade from penetrating the meat. Use your fingers to grab onto that membrane and rip it off.
- Slice the strips of baby back ribs into small pieces by slicing in between each bone. Transfer the ribs to a medium mixing bowl.
- In a small bowl, mix the sugar, salt, garlic powder, vinegar, soy sauce, and rice wine. Pour the marinade over the ribs and stir to coat the ribs with the marinade. Cover the bowl and let the ribs marinate for at least 2 hours (or overnight). Periodically, give the ribs a stir to ensure that all the pieces are evenly marinated.
- To cook the ribs, heat the canola oil in a wok (or sauté pan with a lid) over high heat. Using tongs, transfer the pieces of ribs to the wok. Stir fry the ribs for about 1 minute.
