With the temperatures reaching in the mid-nineties... I was craving a cool smoothie. I searched the internet but just couldn't find the right recipe for what I wanted. So, with a few of my favorite ingredients, I created my own smoothie recipe. A tangy, refreshing drink....perfect for that hot summer day! I hope you all enjoy it.

6 -8 fresh strawberries
1/2 lime, juice of
4 ounces strawberry yogurt
1/2 cup milk
1 tablespoon vanilla
1/2 teaspoon sugar
2 -3 small ice cubes

Steps:

  • In a blender, add all of the above ingredients.
  • Blend ingredients as much as desired (being sure to chop up the ice cubes).
  • Pour into glass and garnish with lime slices and strawberries.
  • Enjoy!

2 cups whole frozen unsweetened strawberries (approx. 10oz)
1 1/4 cups lime-flavored soda water
1/4 cup milk or 1/4 cup soymilk
1 tablespoon Splenda sugar substitute
lime wedge, for garnish

Steps:

  • Spin a wedge of lime around the edge of your glasses and dip them in sugar.
  • Put the strawberries in the blender and let them sit for 5 minutes to thaw slightly.
  • Add 1°C fizzy water and the sugar substitute.
  • Blend until smooth.
  • Stir in the remaining fizzy water and pour into your glasses, garnish with another wedge of lime.
