SPAM® TACOS

Spam® Tacos image

Yes, this dish is made with Spam®. I use the low-sodium Spam®. This dish is quick, easy and delicious. I also made Mexican Rice as a side dish to go with the tacos. You can also top your tacos with sour cream, guacamole, or salsa.

Time 36m

Yield 8

Number Of Ingredients 10

1 (12 ounce) can lite luncheon meat (such as Spam®)
cooking spray
½ (1.25 ounce) package taco seasoning mix, or more to taste
2 tablespoons water, or more as needed
8 (6 inch) flour tortillas
8 ounces shredded lettuce
8 ounces Cheddar cheese, shredded
2 (2.25 ounce) cans sliced olives, drained
1 small tomato, diced
1 small onion, diced

Steps:

  • Shred luncheon meat onto a large plate using a cheese grater.
  • Spray a large skillet with cooking spray and heat over medium-high heat. Add shredded luncheon meat; cook and stir until it begins to brown, about 5 minutes. Stir in taco seasoning and water. Cook and stir until luncheon meat is evenly seasoned and lightly browned, 5 to 7 minutes. Reduce heat to low to keep warm.
  • Spray another skillet with cooking spray and heat over medium-high heat. Place 1 tortilla in the skillet and cook until heated through, about 30 seconds per side. Repeat with remaining tortillas.
  • Top warm tortillas with luncheon meat, lettuce, Cheddar cheese, olives, tomato, and onion.

BREADED SPAM® STEAKS

Breaded SPAM® Steaks image

I got this recipe from my boyfriend (being a guy, he eats anything fried). This is a good snack to make when you get the munchies. It can be made in any quantity you need.

Provided by [email protected]

Categories     Meat and Poultry Recipes     Pork

Time 20m

Yield 3

Number Of Ingredients 5

1 quart vegetable oil for frying
1 (12 ounce) can fully cooked luncheon meat (such as SPAM®), cut into 1/4 inch slices
1 cup all-purpose flour
2 eggs, beaten
2 cups Italian seasoned bread crumbs

Steps:

  • Heat oil in a deep-fryer or large saucepan to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
  • Gently press the luncheon meat slices into the flour to coat and shake off the excess flour. Dip into the beaten egg, then press into bread crumbs. Gently toss between your hands so any bread crumbs that haven't stuck can fall away. Place the breaded luncheon meat slices onto a plate while breading the rest; do not stack.
  • Deep fry the luncheon meat a few slices at a time until hot and golden brown, 3 to 5 minutes. Drain on a paper towel lined plate before serving.

Provided by Keri

Categories     Desserts     Frostings and Icings     Chocolate

Time 1h15m

Yield 24

Number Of Ingredients 10

4 ounces fully cooked luncheon meat (such as SPAM®), grated
1 (15.25 ounce) package devil's food cake mix
1 ⅓ cups water
1 cup mayonnaise
2 large eggs
½ cup butter
1 cup dark brown sugar
⅓ cup heavy whipping cream
¼ teaspoon salt
2 cups confectioners' sugar, or as needed

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease 24 muffin cups or line with paper muffin liners.
  • Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook and stir grated luncheon meat in hot skillet until browned and crispy, 5 to 7 minutes. Transfer meat to a paper towel-lined plate and cool completely.
  • Beat cake mix, water, mayonnaise, and eggs together in a large bowl with an electric mixer on low speed until just moistened. Increase speed to medium and beat until smooth, about 2 minutes. Fold 2/3 of the fried luncheon meat into cake batter. Spoon batter into prepared muffin cups.
  • Bake in the preheated oven until a toothpick inserted into the center of a cupcake comes out clean, about 20 minutes. Cool in the pans set on wire racks until completely cool.
  • Melt butter in a small saucepan over medium heat. Add brown sugar and heavy cream; stir until sugar dissolves. Bring to a simmer and cook sauce without stirring for 1 minute. Remove from heat, stir salt into sauce, and cool completely.
  • Transfer sauce to a large bowl and beat in confectioners' sugar 1 cup at a time until frosting reaches desired consistency. Spread frosting onto cooled cupcakes and top with remaining fried luncheon meat.
