My husband and I stayed at an amazing hotel (The Whitelaw Hotel) in South Beach Miami, Florida. When we got to the hotel, we were so hot and they offered us some water. I swear it was the best water that I have ever had! Very easy and very refreshing, I still serve this on hot days here in the Canadian prairies. There are no real rules to this - it's all about the combination of water and cucumber. Enjoy!

Ingredients

1 long English cucumber, washed and cut into 1/4-inch slices
12 cups cold water
3 cups ice
cucumber, sliced (to garnish)

Steps:

Place cucumber slices in a large pitcher. Add water and ice cubes and stir.
Pour into glasses filled with ice and enjoy!
Garnish each glass with cucumber slices - optional of course!

Steps:

Place 1 thinly sliced English cucumber in a pitcher. For still infused water, add 2 quarts of water. For sparkling water, add 1 quart of seltzer during prep and a second quart just before serving. Refrigerate 2 to 4 hours to allow the cucumber to infuse. Stir well and strain, discarding the cucumber. For serving, add fresh cucumber slices for garnish and plenty of ice. The infused water will keep refrigerated for up to 2 days.

This recipe is from the "Fairmont Sonoma Mission Inn & Spa", in Sonoma,California. I always make this with bottled water, or filtered water. It's great if you have company over. A better option than just handing them a regular bottle of water. Put into a "Beverage Dispenser Jug" with a Spout, so your guests can refill their cups as needed.

1 cucumber, sliced and unpeeled (use 6-7 slices for decoration)
1 1/2-2 liters water
3 mint sprigs
2 mint sprigs, for decoration
1/2 lemon, sliced and unpeeled
ice cube

Steps:

In a pitcher, mix the water, cucumber, 3 mint sprigs and lemon. Let it rest on the fridge for 24 hours. If you prepare the water at the last minute, cut the first cucumber in three or four pieces. Then, squeeze the cucumber pieces to release all the juice.
Before serving remove the cucumber slices used to flavor the water. Then stir with a wooden spoon, add some ice cubes, 6 or 7 fresh cucumber slices and the remaining 2 mint sprigs. Enjoy this refreshing drink.
