Ingredients

1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup water
3 slices tangerines, with peel
1 ounce pumpkin puree
1 1/2 ounces Bourbon
1/2 ounce Grand Marnier

Steps:

In saucepan combine brown sugar and water, bring to a boil to dissolve sugar. Remove from heat and let cool. In cocktail glass muddle tangarine slices. In a shaker filled with ice combine 1/2 oz simple syrup, pumpkin puree, bourbon and Grand Marnier. Shake well and strain into cocktail glass. Garnish with nutmeg if desired.

To make the simple syrup, add pumpkin puree, water, sugar and pumpkin pie spice to a small saucepan. Bring mixture to a boil over medium-high heat, stirring constantly. Once the syrup is boiling and smooth, remove from heat and cover. Let sit for 15 minutes.
Strain the pumpkin mixture into an airtight container. Let cool completely before making the cocktail. Syrup can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 1 week.
