Steps:
- Put chicken breast halves in a slow cooker.
- Whisk barbeque sauce, vinegar, brown sugar, garlic powder, and red pepper flakes together in a bowl until the sugar dissolves; pour over the chicken.
- Cook on Low for 4 to 6 hours.

Steps:
- Heat the slow cooker to low and heat 1 tbsp oil in a pan. Brown the chicken in batches, transferring it to the slow cooker as you go. Add the remaining oil to the pan and fry the onions for 5 mins, or until just softened, then stir in the garlic and paprika and cook for another minute. Tip into the slow cooker, then swirl 100ml water around the pan and pour this in as well.
- Add the chipotle, passata, barbecue sauce, sugar and lime juice, then season and stir. Cover and cook for 6-8 hrs until the chicken is really tender. Using two forks, shred the chicken through the sauce. Serve in buns, taco shells, jacket potatoes or over rice, with coriander leaves, chillies and guacamole, if you like.

Tender fall apart chicken. I found this recipe at Pinchin Your Pennies. I loved the flavor of this chicken. When I made this chicken I used bone-in chicken quarters. I cooked my chicken for 8 hours and when I removed it from the crockpot the meat just fell off the bone.

- Mix together all ingredients (except chicken) in slow cooker.
- Add the chicken, coating each piece in sauce.
- Cook on high for four hours.
- Remove chicken and shred/pull with forks. Return to pot and stir in sauce to coat.

- Combine the chicken, ketchup, vinegar, sugar, molasses, Worcestershire, mustard, garlic, 1/2 teaspoon salt and 1/4 teaspoon pepper in a large resealable plastic bag and shake to combine. Squeeze out the air from the bag and seal. Freeze until ready to use, up to 3 months. Thaw in the refrigerator for at least 24 hours before cooking.
- Pour the contents of the plastic bag in a 6-quart slow cooker. Cook on low until the meat is tender, 5 to 7 hours. Shred the chicken with a fork and toss it in the cooking liquid.
- Divide the chicken among the 4 buns and top with coleslaw and pickles. Serve with potato chips.
SLOW-COOKED OVEN-BAKED BBQ CHICKEN
Steps:
- Gather the ingredients.
- Preheat the oven to 300 F. Line a rimmed baking sheet with aluminum foil, and spray the foil with nonstick cooking spray.
- In a nonreactive saucepan , make the sauce by combining all of the ingredients except the drumsticks: ketchup, vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, molasses, mustard, Tabasco sauce, rub, and pepper. Slowly bring it to a boil over medium-high heat, stirring frequently.
- Reduce the heat to medium-low and gently simmer until dark, thick, and richly flavored, about 10 to 15 minutes.
- Place chicken drumsticks into a large bowl, and pour some sauce over them. Toss the chicken in the sauce until well coated.
- Using tongs , transfer the chicken to the prepared baking sheet, leaving any remaining sauce in the bowl. Make sure the drumsticks aren't touching.
- Bake for 1 1/4 to 1 1/2 hours, basting once midway through the baking time with the remaining sauce in the bowl.
- Bake until the chicken is fully cooked through and the outside has a nice glaze. Serve hot or at room temperature and enjoy.

ZESTY SLOW COOKED BBQ CHICKEN
My Family LOVES chicken, and BBQ not to mention I LOVE my crock-pot. So I have devised several recipes that use my crock-pot, as well as some of the naturally grown, pastured/free range meats we grow out here on the homestead. Oh and I guess I will throw in some of our garden fresh herbs for good measure.
