Steps:
- Preheat oven to 350°F.
- Cook bacon until crisp; drain, reserving 2 tablespoons drippings. Crumble bacon; set aside.
- Cook onion in drippings until tender; add bacon, beans, brown sugar, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, and prepared mustard; mix well. Turn into a 1-1/2 quart oven proof casserole.
- Bake uncovered for 1 1/2 to 1 3/4 hours, checking periodically. Add a little water if mixture becomes too dry.
- Let stand a few minutes before serving.

- In a 9x9 inch baking dish, combine the pork and beans, brown sugar, onion, ketchup, mustard, Worcestershire sauce and vinegar and season with salt and pepper to taste. Top with the bacon slices.

SIMPLE BAKED BEANS
This recipe came from a bowling partner several years ago. It is by far the easiest and tastiest baked bean recipe I've ever used. It can easily be doubled or tripled to accommodate large gatherings. I find it handy because I usually have the ingredients on hand to throw it together.

- Bake, uncovered, in 325° oven, 1 1/2 to 2 hours.

- Soak beans overnight in 8 cups water.
- Next day drain water and add to pot with lots of water.
- Bring to boil reduce heat and simmer 1 to 1 1/2 hours.

- Drain and rinse with hot water.
- Place beans, onion, 1 cup hot water, cooked bacon, brown sugar, molasses,tomato paste, salt, dry mustard and pepper in a crock pot and

- In a 12-inch cast iron skillet over medium heat cook bacon until crispy. Remove with a slotted spoon. Drain all but 2-3 tbsp of bacon grease.

- Add remaining ingredients except for 1 can of beans. Stir well. Then add in the last can and stir carefully. The pan will be very full.

- Adjust oven rack to lower-middle position and heat oven to 325 degrees.
- Fry bacon in large, deep sauté pan skillet until bacon has partially cooked and released about 1/4 cup drippings. Remove bacon from pan and drain on paper towels.
- Add onions and peppers to drippings in pan and sauté until tender, about 5 minutes.

BAKED BEANS
