Steps:
- This is best prepared the night before.
- Place the meat in a casserole, add water and boil for 1-1 1/2 hours. Take off the heat and leave to cool. When cool, skim off all fat.
- Bring to the boil again and add worcester sauce, mushrooms, potatoes, carrot turnip, parsnip, onion, leeks, sweed, stock cubes, tomato puree and peas.
- Simmer for about 2 hours and check seasoning occasionally. Top up occsionally with boiling water.
- Serve with red cabbage and triangles of bread.

- Soak the bran, sugar, milk and fruit together for at least 2 hours. Add flour and pour into a loaf tin.
- Bake at 180C/350F/Gas 4 for 1 - 1 1/2 hours.
- Serve in slices. Dieters may consume an occasional slice as a treat!

- Peel the potatoes and dice (1 inch).
- Scrape carrots and slice.
- Peel onion and slice.
- Dice meat into 1 inch pieces.
- Place meat in a large saucepan with carrots onions salt and about 2 pints of water.
- Boil for 30 minutes.
- Add potatoes and boil for 30 more minutes.
