This warm, hearty dip is loaded with spicy pork sausage, spinach and pinto beans. Serve with Food Should Taste Good™ tortilla chips for a crowd-pleasing appetizer.

1 lb bulk spicy pork sausage
1 medium sweet onion, finely chopped (1/2 cup)
1 red bell pepper, finely chopped
2 cloves garlic, finely chopped
1 teaspoon chopped fresh thyme leaves
1/2 cup dry white wine
1 package (8 oz) cream cheese, cut into cubes
1 bag (6 oz) fresh baby spinach leaves, coarsely chopped
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 can (16 oz) pinto beans, drained, rinsed
1/2 cup shredded Parmesan cheese (2 oz)
Food Should Taste Good™ cantina tortilla chips, as desired
Fresh thyme sprig, if desired

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 375°F. In large skillet, cook sausage, onion and chopped bell pepper over medium-high heat 8 to 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until pork is no longer pink; drain. Add garlic and 1 teaspoon thyme; cook 1 minute. Stir in wine; cook 2 minutes or until liquid is almost completely evaporated.
  • Add cream cheese; cook 2 minutes, stirring constantly, until cream cheese is melted. Stir in spinach and salt. Cook 2 minutes longer, stirring constantly, until spinach is wilted. Remove from heat. Gently stir in beans. Pour mixture into 2-quart casserole; sprinkle with Parmesan cheese.
  • Bake uncovered 18 to 20 minutes or until golden brown. Serve dip warm with tortilla chips. Garnish with thyme sprig.

1 pound bulk hot Italian sausage
1 medium onion, finely chopped
4 garlic cloves, minced
1/2 cup dry white wine or chicken broth
1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
1/4 teaspoon salt

1 package (8 ounces) cream cheese, softened
1 package (6 ounces) fresh baby spinach, coarsely chopped
1 can (15 ounces) cannellini beans, rinsed and drained
1 cup chopped seeded tomatoes
1 cup shredded part-skim mozzarella cheese
1/2 cup shredded Parmesan cheese
Assorted crackers or toasted French bread baguette slices

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 375°. In a large skillet, cook sausage, onion and garlic over medium heat until sausage is no longer pink, breaking up sausage into crumbles; drain. Stir in wine, oregano, salt and thyme. Bring to a boil; cook until liquid is almost evaporated., Add cream cheese; stir until melted. Stir in spinach, beans and tomatoes; cook and stir until spinach is wilted. Transfer to a greased 8-in. square baking dish; if using an ovenproof skillet, leave in skillet. Sprinkle with cheeses., Bake until bubbly, 20-25 minutes. Serve with crackers.

1 (10 ounce) package frozen chopped spinach, thawed and well drained
1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
1 (8 ounce) container sour cream
1 (10 ounce) can extra hot Ro-Tel tomatoes, drained
1 -1 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1/2 teaspoon fresh minced garlic
4 -5 scallions, chopped

Steps:

  • In a large skillet over medium heat on stovetop, brown sausage; drain.
  • Add spinach, cream cheese, and sour cream.
  • Cook over medium heat until bubbly, stirring occasionally to keep from burning on bottom.
  • Add tomatoes and cheddar cheese and continue to cook, keeping the temperature at medium heat.
  • When cheese is melted, add garlic.
  • Add scallions.
  • Turn heat down to low, to keep warm, until ready to serve.
  • Serve with chips.

1 lb bulk mild Italian sausage
1 medium onion, chopped
2 cloves garlic, finely chopped
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
2 tablespoons Gold Medal™ all-purpose flour
1 bag (5 oz) fresh baby spinach
1 can (14.5 oz) Muir Glen™ organic fire roasted diced tomatoes, undrained
1 can (14.5 oz) Muir Glen™ organic fire roasted crushed tomatoes, undrained
1 can (19 oz) Progresso™ cannellini beans, drained, rinsed
3/4 cup Progresso™ plain panko crispy bread crumbs

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 375°F. Spray 13x9-inch (3-quart) baking dish with cooking spray.
  • In 12-inch skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of the oil over medium-high heat. Add sausage; cook 5 to 7 minutes, stirring frequently, until no longer pink. Add onion, garlic, salt, black pepper and red pepper flakes; continue to cook 3 to 4 minutes, stirring frequently, until vegetables have softened slightly. Sprinkle flour over top, and cook 2 minutes, stirring constantly.
  • Add half of the spinach to sausage mixture; cook and stir about 1 minute or until wilted. Add remaining half of the spinach; continue to cook and stir about 1 minute or until wilted. Add tomatoes and beans; cook about 1 minute, stirring and scraping bottom of pan, until combined. Remove from heat; transfer to baking dish.
  • In small bowl, mix bread crumbs and remaining 2 tablespoons oil. Sprinkle over top. Bake 25 to 30 minutes or until bubbly around edges and brown on top.

2 cups chicken or vegetable broth
2 cloves of garlic
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1 tablespoon olive oil
2 cups cannellini beans, rinsed and drained
2 medium tomatoes, small diced
6 cups baby spinach leaves
Freshly ground black pepper to taste

Steps:

  • Cook the sausage in a cast iron skillet or non-stick pan on medium high. If using sausage links, sear them well on the sides then slice as desired. Add cooked sausage to the beans along with what's left in the pan. Pour chicken broth and garlic into a large pot. Place on medium high heat and bring to a simmer. Add in the oil, oregano, and beans mixture. Stir together before adding in tomatoes. Heat through until beans are tender. Add spinach and cook just until the leaves are wilted. Stir to combine and sprinkle cracked pepper on top.

2 1/2 lbs Italian sausage (removed from casings)
2 tablespoons olive oil
2 large carrots, peeled and coarsley chopped
1 large onion, finely chopped
2 tablespoons minced fresh garlic
2 teaspoons dried chili pepper flakes (optional or to taste)
3 teaspoons dried basil (or to taste)
2 -3 quarts chicken broth
2 (14 ounce) cans diced tomatoes
2 (15 ounce) cans cannellini beans, rinced and drained (white beans)
2 cups large uncooked shell pasta
12 ounces fresh spinach (can use frozen)
1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese (or to taste)
salt and black pepper

Steps:

  • Heat olive oil in a 8-10-quart pot over medium-high heat.
  • Add in the sausage meat; cook until browned (about 8-10 minutes) remove the meat to a plate or bowl.
  • Add in the onion, carrots, basil and dried chili flakes; saute for about 5-6 minutes adding in the garlic the last couple minutes.
  • Add in chicken broth, tomatoes with juice and drained beans; bring to a boil, cover with lid and cook at medium-low for about 30 minutes.
  • Add in pasta shells; reduce heat and simmer until the pasta is firm-tender (about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • Skim any fat that has accumulated on top of the soup, then stir in about 1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese and the fresh spinach; cook until the spinach is just wilted (about 1-2 minutes).
  • Season with salt and pepper.
  • Pass more Parmesan cheese at the table.

¼ cup sour cream or plain yogurt
½ teaspoon minced garlic
¼ teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon canola or vegetable oil
1/2 (1-pound) Jimmy Dean Premium Pork Hot Sausage
2 tablespoons salsa
2 tablespoons shredded Cheddar or Mexican cheese blend
2 tablespoons sour cream
1 tablespoon roughly chopped cilantro

Steps:

  • In a food processor, mix beans, 1/4 cup sour cream, garlic, and salt. Pulse until smooth.
  • Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a small frying pan over medium-high heat for about 30 seconds. Add Jimmy Dean sausage and cook for 8 to 10 minutes until browned, stirring frequently to break up the sausage into small pieces, then drain. Move the sausage to a separate pot and set aside.
