Ingredients

1 pound hamburger
1/2 pound bacon, chopped into 1/2-inch dice
1 medium onion, chopped into 1/2-inch dice
1 (16 oz) can pork and beans
1 (12 oz) can kidney beans
1 (12 oz) can lima beans
1 (12 oz) can butter bean
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup ketchup
2 tablespoons cider vinegar
1 tablespoon prepared mustard
salt and fresh ground black pepper (to taste)

Steps:

Preheat oven to 325 degrees F. Fry hamburger and bacon together; saute onions with meats. Do not drain. Stir in canned beans (for thicker beans, drain the liquid from the canned beans) and remaining ingredients. Place in a large, oven safe bowl. Bake in 325 degree F oven for about 45 minutes.

Ingredients

3 cups small white beans, uncooked
1 tablespoon salt
1/4 cup onion, chopped
1 1/2 cups brown sugar
1 tablespoon mustard
1/4 cup ketchup
1 cup molasses
2 tablespoons garlic, crushed
1 tablespoon red pepper flakes

Steps:

Bring beans to a boil as directed on the package; add all other ingredients except brown sugar.
Boil beans approximately 1 hour or until tender, but not soft.
Add brown sugar and enough water so beans are covered with at least 1-inch of liquid.
Cover and bake at 220 degrees for at least 8 hours.
Check periodically to be sure there is enough liquid; if dry, add a little water.
