Steps:
- Toast the sesame seeds by placing in a skillet over medium heat. Stir often until they start to brown. Remove from heat and transfer to another dish as soon as they reach a golden color. They can go from brown to burnt quickly so keep a close watch. Let cool.
- Whisk together all the ingredients in a mason jar or other container. If using a jar you can put the lid on and give it a good shake.
- This dressing will keep in the fridge for 2-3 weeks.
GINGER SESAME TERIYAKI SAUCE
25 yrs ago I worked for a caterer named Helen, who made all her sauces and food from scratch. I always loved comming into the shop when she was making teriyaki sauce. The aroma would make me start salivating...it smelled so heavenly. I recently reconnected with her on Facebook and asked if she still had the recipe. She has since...

Steps:
- 1. Mix all ingredients together in saucepan. Bring to a slow boil over medium high heat. Stir in cornstarch and cook until thickened. Use as a marinade or glaze for kabobs, chicken, steak, fish, etc. Enjoy!
- 2. Note: I made 4 times this recipe as I was making it for a party. My new electric mini chopper made fast work of the ginger and garlic prep. And yes, my whole house smells wonderful and my mouth is watering. yummm

SESAME SOY DIPPING SAUCE/MARINADE
I found this on the internet while looking for dipping sauces to use for a fondue party. YUMMY! Tasted great with shrimp, chicken, etc. We found that we like soaking the shrimp for awhile in the sauce after cooking it so I think that I will also try this as a marinade sometime soon.

GINGER AND SESAME MARINADE
Fresh ginger juice adds a particular zing to a marinade: the fragrant, hot flavour penetrates into meat, poultry, fish and seafood, while helping to tenderise at the same time. The sesame seeds in this recipe add texture, the fish sauce adds saltiness, and the sweet-and-sour blend of sugar and lime juice completes the Asian credentials of this marinade. Can be used to prepare- 4 Beef steaks or 4 Lamb steaks or 4 Pork chops or 6 Chicken breasts or 6 Fish steaks and fillets or 4 Duck breasts or 2lbs of jumbo shrimp. Time does not include marinating.

Steps:
- The marinade- Put the ginger in a fine sieve, or a sieve lined with muslin, and press the juice into a bowl.
- You need to extract 7 tbs ginger juice - add a little water to the ginger pulp and squeeze again if necessary. Add the remaining ingredients, except the sugar, and stir to mix.
- Put the meat or seafood in a non-metallic shallow dish and rub the marinade all over. For meat, cover and leave in the fridge for at least 4 hours or overnight. Fish and shrimp only need marinating for up to 30 minutes in the refrigerator.
- Remember to give the marinated food at least 20 minutes to return to room temperature before cooking.
- To cook- While cooking the food, season and baste it with the marinade. Before brushing the final few strokes on, add the sugar and stir to dissolve; this helps glaze the food, but if the sugar is added too soon, it will burn and stick.

This quick sauce does an excellent job of tying the components of this pork chop dinner together. It's also excellent over mixed greens, or tossed with cold noodles.

SESAME SAUCE
This is a wonderful sauce from a local restaurant. Its sought after and thankfully they are planning on bottling it but I just couldn't wait and happened to get the recipe from a friend who got it from a former employee. Its super tasty over rice, goes well as a dipping sauce for steak and prawns or whatever you want to try.
