4 tablespoons salted butter, plus more for the cake pan
One 10-ounce bag regular marshmallows
1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
4 cups fruit-flavored cereal, such as Fruity Pebbles
2 cups rice cereal
One 10-ounce bag mini rainbow marshmallows
1/4 cup rainbow sprinkles
4 ounces white chocolate

Steps:

Thoroughly grease a straight-sided 9-inch square cake pan with butter.
Melt the butter in a large, heavy-bottomed pot set over medium heat. Cook, swirling the butter around in the pot, until it foams and turns a medium golden brown, 3 to 4 minutes. Add the regular marshmallows and stir until they're completely melted. Add the salt and give it another stir.
Remove the pot from the heat and pour in the cereal. Gently fold it into the marshmallow until well combined. Next, add the mini rainbow marshmallows and fold them into the mix. Some will melt, but some will remain whole; that is the way you want it.
Turn the mixture into the buttered cake pan and press flat using a wooden spoon or spatula. Sprinkle with the rainbow sprinkles over the top while it is still warm. Let cool completely, about 20 minutes.
When the crispy treats are cool, place the white chocolate in a heatproof bowl set over boiling water. Heat, stirring, until the chocolate is melted and completely smooth. Set aside for a minute to cool.
Drizzle the white chocolate over the cooled crispy treats and let the chocolate set for 5 minutes. Cut into 1 1/2-inch squares.

This is a variation on Rice Krispie Treats. It is a nice change and a bit sweeter. Every time I make these, people say that these are better than the Rice Krispie version. My friends and I used to buy these at the dessert shop at the college I went to.

Ingredients

3 tablespoons butter or 3 tablespoons margarine
1 (10 ounce) package mini marshmallows
6 cups of fruity pebbles cereal (or store brand)

Steps:

Melt margarine or butter in large saucepan over low heat.
Add marshmallows.
Stir until melted and mixture is smooth.
Remove from heat.
Immediately add cereal.
Mix lightly until well coated.
Press firmly into lighty greased 13x9x2-inch pan.
Cool completely;cut into squares.
Microwave: Microwave margarine or butter in large microwavable bowl at HIGH (100% power) 45 seconds or until melted.
Add marshmallows;toss to coat.
Microwave 1 1/2 minutes or until melted and mixture is smooth, stirring after 45 seconds.
Proceed with step#5.
(You can also add rainbow colored chocolate candies into the mixture.).

Have 4 bowls ready with a drop of food coloring in each bowl as well as 4 larger bowls next to them with 2 cups of cereal in each one.You could easily double this recipe so adjust amounts accordingly. (you'd need a larger pan though)
Melt your butter and marshmallows on the stove, remove immediately once melted and smooth. Pour 1/4 of this into each smaller bowl with the food coloring in it.Quickly stir together with coloring and then pour it into one of the cereal bowls and mix until well combined.
Once all colored rice krispy bowls are well combined start with one of the colors and add it into your 9x13 pan (could use a greased cookie sheet as well)Push down flat using a piece of parchment paper on your hand so you have a thin even layer across the pan.
Dump the second color in and do the same thing creating another layer of rice krispy treat color.
