A DEFINITIVE RANKING OF THE 10 BEST SPIKED SELTZERS

- Bon & Viv. Bon & Viv has been my go-to spiked-seltzer brand for over a year now, and not just because the original formula had six percent ABV. This brand somehow strikes the perfect level of fruitiness without using any sugar or leaving an icky artificial aftertaste.
- White Claw. If I'd created this list last week, White Claw would have been third and not second. They've always been a little too sweet for me, especially the Mango flavor.
- High Noon. High Noon Sun Sips is the purest, and arguably healthiest, spiked seltzer on this list. With just sparkling water, vodka, and a hint of real fruit juice, there's something uniquely delicious about its simplicity.
- Press. With flavor profiles similar to my beloved Boochcraft, Press has cornered the market on drinking hard seltzers strictly for the taste. The flavors can be somewhat polarizing, though.
- Henry's. Part of me thinks Henry's only became popular because it's perceived as healthy by being the lowest-calorie hard seltzer. But quite frankly, 88 calories vs. 110 calories means nothing to me, so I was left unimpressed with this one.
- Wild Basin. Wild Basin Boozing Sparkling Water feels like one of the healthiest options in the lineup because it is sold at Whole Foods, is "the first national craft hard seltzer," and has unparalleled crispness.
- Natural Light Seltzer. While it tastes clearly artificial, at six percent ABV, which is a step up from the usual four to five percent, it's still a good option.
- Bud Light Seltzer. Bud Light's spiked seltzer is comparable to a watered-down White Claw . . . it's not bad, but when you have other options, why? 8 / 10.
- Cutwater. Cutwater's Grapefruit and Cucumber Vodka Sodas are a more high-end take on a hard seltzer, and while the ingredients do taste like they're better quality than most of its competitors, the alcohol taste is painfully strong.
- Truly. Now, I know a lot of people will disagree with this one, but have you ever noticed that after taking a sip of Truly, you're left with a slightly unpleasant syrupy aftertaste?

- Flying Embers. Flying Embers is well known for their hard kombucha, but have you ever tried their hard seltzer? If you haven’t, it should probably stay that way.
- Hornitos. We had high expectations for this tequila brand’s line of hard seltzers because it uses real agave tequila. It thankfully lacked the malt liquor flavor that some hard seltzers have, but the additional flavorings are really off.
- Wild Basin. Wild Basin’s line of hard seltzers uses water from the St. Vrain River in the Rocky Mountains. Unfortunately, that water was tainted with some intensely artificial flavors.
- Two Robbers. Two Robbers is a Philadelphia-based hard seltzer brand, and most of their offerings have no sugar or added sweeteners. Most of the varieties are fun variations on traditional seltzer flavors (think cherry lemon and watermelon cucumber).
- Vizzy. Vizzy distinguishes itself from the other brands by adding a boost of vitamin C to each can with the superfruit acerola. Each of the flavors we tried are a combination of different fruits, like strawberry and kiwi, mango and pineapple, and cherry and lime.
- White Claw. Hard seltzer is basically synonymous with White Claw. It’s the OG hard seltzer brand, and each of our taste test participants came in with pre-existing perceptions about it.
- Truly. Truly is one of the most popular hard seltzer brands, and for good reason. The effervescence is perfectly balanced, and the wide variety of flavors means you can satisfy everyone’s preferences.
- Press Premium. Out of all the hard seltzer brands we tried, Press presented itself as the fanciest. This premium hard seltzer brand appeals to “discerning consumers” by pairing unique flavors like pear and chamomile, grapefruit and cardamom, and lime and lemongrass.
- Juneshine. Hard kombucha brand Juneshine put their stake in the hard seltzer game by launching their version of ranch water in a can. While it’s not made with Topo Chico, as is traditional, we think it’s a great substitute for a margarita in a pinch.
- Straightaway. Straightaway specializes in high-quality canned cocktails. They collaborated with Steven Smith Teamaker to produce a line of tea-infused hard seltzers.
