1 pound ground beef
1 (15 ounce) can green beans, drained
1 (11 ounce) can whole kernel corn, drained
2 (10.75 ounce) cans condensed cream of mushroom soup, undiluted
1 (8 ounce) package shredded mozzarella cheese
1 cup crushed plain potato chips

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  • Crumble the ground beef into a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook and stir until evenly browned. Drain off the grease. Stir in the green beans and corn, and cook for a few minutes. Mix in the cans of soup until well blended. Transfer to a 9x13 inch baking dish. Top with shredded cheese and crushed potato chips.
  • Bake for about 15 minutes in the preheated oven, until the cheese melts and the chips are toasted. If you like crispier chips, you can sprinkle them on top after the cheese has melted, and bake for another 5 minutes.

This recipe was popular in the 60's. It was one of the first tuna casserole's and is still a great comfort food today. Easy to make and has all the things that are usually on hand. This can also be made with the same size can of chicken. Sometimes I add mushrooms and english peas.

1 1/2 cups noodles
1 (10 3/4 ounce) can cream of mushroom soup
1/2 cup milk
1 (5 ounce) canned tuna, drained
1/2 cup potato chips
1/2 cup chopped onion
1 cup shredded cheese

Steps:

  • Cook noodles in unsalted water.
  • Drain noodles. Mix soup, milk and tuna with noodles.
  • Add shredded cheese and onion.
  • Pour into casserole dish.
  • Crush potato chips and sprinkle on top. Bake 15 minutes at 425 degrees.

1 (10 2/3 ounce) can cream of mushroom soup

Steps:

  • Make soup according to directions on label.
  • In a casserole dish: put a layer of potato chips on bottom.
  • Alternate with layers of tuna to end up with 3 layers of tuna; 4 layers of chips.
  • Pour soup over all. Add another layer of chips on top.
  • Bake in a 350° oven (uncovered) for 15 minutes.

4 tablespoons unsalted butter, plus more for the baking dish
1 medium onion, finely chopped
8 ounces cremini mushrooms, sliced
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
2 cups whole milk
1 cup chicken broth
8 ounces medium pasta shells (about 3 cups)
One 6-ounce jar Italian tuna in olive oil, drained and flaked
2 tablespoons chopped fresh flat-leaf parsley
2 cups grated sharp white Cheddar
1 1/2 cups crumbled flavored potato chips, such as salt-and-vinegar, onion or jalapeno

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Butter a 2-quart casserole or baking dish.
  • Melt the butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the onion and cook, stirring occasionally, until slightly softened, about 5 minutes. Increase the heat to medium high and add the mushrooms and 1/4 teaspoon salt. Cook, stirring, until the mushrooms release their liquid and turn golden brown, 8 to 10 minutes. Sprinkle the flour over the mushrooms and cook, whisking, about 1 minute. Gradually add the milk while whisking constantly, then whisk in the chicken broth. Bring the mixture to a simmer, stirring often. Simmer until thickened, about 5 minutes.
  • Meanwhile, cook the pasta in the boiling water until al dente according to the package directions. Drain the pasta and stir it into the mushroom mixture. Add the tuna and parsley and stir to combine. Turn off the heat and add 1 cup of the Cheddar. Stir to combine. Season with salt and pepper.

1 medium cabbage
1 (10 3/4 ounce) can cream of celery soup
1 cup milk
1/2 cup mayonnaise
crushed potato chips
grated cheese
1/2 cup margarine, melted

Steps:

  • Cut up cabbage and steam about 5 minutes in lightly boiling salted water. One or two garlic cloves can be added to the water if desired. Drain cabbage well.
  • Put layer of crushed potato chips over bottom of 9x13-inch pan.
  • Put cabbage on top of potato chips. If you haven't put garlic cloves in cooking water you might sprinkle cabbage with garlic salt or powder.
  • Blend milk, mayonnaise, and soup with wire whisk. Pour over the cabbage. Sprinkle grated cheese over top. Then cover with more crushed potato chips. Pour melted margarine over all.
  • Bake at 350°F for 30 minutes.

  • In a large bowl combine the chicken, rice, soup, mayonnaise, onion, celery, water chestnuts, lemon juice, water, salt and pepper. Mix well. 2 (6 1/4 ounce) cans tuna, drained
1 (10 1/2 ounce) can cream of chicken soup

8 ounces cheddar cheese, shredded
2 cups milk
1/3 cup margarine, melted
1/4 cup onion, chopped
1/4 teaspoon ground thyme

Steps:

  • Cook noodles in boiling salted water per package instructions.
  • Mix remaining ingredients together well except for chips.
