Perfect Bourbon Manhattans Food

Ingredients

2 ounces Kentucky bourbon
1/2 fluid ounce sweet Italian vermouth
1/2 fluid ounce dry French vermouth
1 dash Angostura bitters
Maraschino cherry or orange twist

Steps:

Fill a cocktail shaker or small pitcher with ice. Add the bourbon, both vermouths, and the dash of bitters. Cover and shake vigorously, or stir, until combined and chilled, about 30 seconds. (In general, by the time the shaker mists up the drink is ready.) Strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with the cherry or orange twist and serve.

This is the cocktail for all of you who aren't martini drinkers. The addition of just a little cherry juice makes for a very smooth drink.

2 ounces Bourbon (use a good quality, such as Maker's Mark)
3/4-1 ounce sweet vermouth, depending on taste
2 -3 dashes Angostura bitters (or orange bitters, if you can find them)
1 teaspoon cherry juice (from the jar of maraschino cherries)
1 maraschino cherry, preferably on its stem

Steps:

In a mixing glass, half-filled with ice cubes, combine all the ingredients, except the cherry. Stir a couple of times.
Strain into a cocktail (martini) glass. Let the cherry drop to the bottom.

Steps:

Add 2 tablespoons sweet vermouth to the ice and whiskey and gently stir; strain into a glass. Garnish: Maraschino cherry.

In mixing glass or cocktail shaker filled with ice, combine whiskey, vermouth, and bitters. Stir well, about 20 seconds, then strain into cocktail glass. Add cherry or twist lemon peel directly over drink to release essential oils, and serve.
