If you like peanut butter you'll love this frosting, great on chocolate cakes but for a real peanut butter experience try it on a peanut butter cake. If you don't have cream, you may substitute milk.

½ cup butter
1 cup creamy peanut butter
4 cups confectioners' sugar
⅓ cup cream

Steps:

  • In a large bowl, beat butter and peanut butter until light and fluffy. Slowly beat in 1/2 of the confectioner's sugar. Mix in 1/4 cup of the cream. Beat in the remaining confectioners' sugar. If necessary, add a little more cream or milk until the frosting reaches a good spreading consistency. Makes enough to frost one 2 layer 9 inch cake or one 9x13 inch cake.

2/3 cup natural, creamy peanut butter
8 tablespoons (1 stick) unsalted butter, softened
3/4 cup confectioners' sugar
Fine salt (optional)

Steps:

  • Cream peanut butter and butter in the bowl of an electric mixer fitted with the paddle attachment on high speed. On low speed, mix in sugar until combined, then beat mixture on high speed until fluffy and smooth, about 3 minutes. Add salt to taste, if desired. Use immediately.

I used it to frost a banana cake I made (recipe #50349-which is an excellent cake recipe) and it was soooo good! I found this recipe on another recipe website. I'm thinking it would also be great on chocolate cake.

1/2 cup creamy peanut butter (would also be good with crunchy peanut butter)
1 teaspoon vanilla

  • Mix together cream cheese and peanut butter with mixer until smooth.
  • Add vanilla and powdered sugar, 1 cup at a time, along with the milk or cream and beat until spreading consistency.

Cream the butters. In the bowl of a stand mixer, or using a hand-held electric mixer, beat the butter and peanut butter until creamy, well combined and light in color. Add the powdered sugar. With the mixer on low, gradually add the powdered sugar, ½ cup at a time until all of the powdered sugar has been added.

Instructions. Place marshmallow creme, peanut butter, butter, and vanilla in a medium-sized mixing bowl. Mix at low speed with an electric mixer until well combined. Add confectioners' sugar, salt, and 1 tablespoon milk; beat at medium speed until just combined and smooth. Check consistency of frosting.
