My Perfect Party Frosting is the ultimate sweet finish to any type of cake! Careful, though, this marshmallow buttercream frosting with sprinkles is pretty addicting!

1 cup salted butter, room temperature
14 ounces Marshmallow Fluff
2 cups powdered sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 cup sprinkles

Steps:

  • In the bowl of your stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, mix the butter on medium speed until smooth. Add in the Marshmallow Fluff and mix for an additional minute, or until smooth, scraping the sides of the bowl as necessary.
  • Turn the mixer to low and add in the powdered sugar and vanilla, mixing until combined, then turn the mixer up to medium and mix for another minute.
  • Add in the sprinkles and mix until evenly incorporated.

2 (1 ounce) packages fruit flavored Jell-O® mix
2 egg whites
1 cup white sugar
¼ cup water
⅛ teaspoon cream of tartar

Steps:

  • In the top of a double boiler, combine gelatin, egg whites, sugar, water and cream of tartar. Using an electric mixer, beat icing over boiling water until soft peaks form. Remove from heat. Continue to beat until icing forms stiff peaks. Use to frost a completely cooled cake.

Number Of Ingredients 6

1/4 cup unbleached all-purpose flour
1 cup whole milk
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
Pinch of kosher salt
2 sticks unsalted butter, room temperature
1 cup sugar

Steps:

  • In a small saucepan, whisk together flour and milk until smooth. Cook over medium-high heat, whisking constantly, until mixture becomes thick and resembles pudding, 3 to 4 minutes. Transfer to a heat-proof bowl; stir in vanilla and salt. Press plastic wrap against surface; let cool completely.
  • Beat butter with sugar on medium speed until light and fluffy, scraping down bowl as needed, about 2 minutes. Add milk mixture and continue beating until frosting is light and fluffy and resembles whipped cream, about 2 minutes more. Use immediately.

¼ cup strong brewed coffee
1 teaspoon cream of tartar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Steps:

  • In bottom of large double boiler bring water to boil, then reduce to simmer. In top combine brown sugar, egg whites, coffee, and cream of tartar. Beat with mixer 5 to 7 minutes, or until stiff peaks form. Remove from heat. Add vanilla, and beat additional 3 minutes.

  • Place a rack in middle of oven; preheat to 350°. Lightly coat pans with nonstick spray. Line bottom of each pan with a parchment paper round. Lightly coat parchment with nonstick spray. Whisk flour, baking powder, and salt in a medium bowl. Using an electric mixer on medium speed, beat sugar and butter in a large bowl, scraping down sides of bowl as needed, until pale and fluffy, about 3 minutes. Add eggs one at a time, beating well and scraping down sides of bowl after each addition.
  • Combine milk and vanilla in a measuring glass. Reduce speed to low; beat in dry ingredients in 3 additions, alternating with milk mixture in 2 additions, mixing well after each addition. Divide batter evenly among 6 small bowls (if using a scale, about 200 g each).
  • Color batter in each bowl with orange, green, yellow, red, pink, and black food coloring, adding and stirring in until you reach desired hue. Scrape a color of batter into each prepared pan; smooth surface. Bake cakes, rotating pans halfway through if browning too much in one spot, until tops spring back when very gently pressed and a tester inserted in the center comes out clean (go all the way to the bottom), 16–20 minutes. Transfer pans to wire racks and let cakes cool in pans 10 minutes. Run a small knife or offset spatula around inside of pans to loosen cakes, then turn out onto racks. Remove parchment and let cool completely (keep upside down).
  • Using clean beaters, beat butter on medium speed in a large bowl until smooth. Add cream cheese a few pieces at a time, beating until smooth. Beat in vanilla, then reduce speed to low and add powdered sugar a little at a time, beating until smooth. Mix in lemon juice and salt. Scoop 1 cup frosting into a small bowl; set aside. Add a few drops yellow food coloring to frosting in large bowl and stir well; add more until you reach desired hue.
