- Heat the sauce over medium heat, whisking often, 3-4 minutes, until it comes to a simmer and thickens into a syrup. Remove from heat as soon as it thickens.
- Using tongs, dip each wing into the teriyaki sauce to coat all over. Or drop them in batches into the saucepan and gently turn to coat. Transfer to a serving plate, sprinkle with sesame seeds, and serve.

- Cook in a roasting pan/cookie sheet with a"lip" so the sauce doesn't spill and make a mess of the oven 350 degrees Cook for 1 hour.

Steps:
- Add the ginger and garlic to a pot and arrange the chicken on top, leaving as little space between the wings as possible.
- Add the sugar, soy sauce, and sake on top of the chicken, and then bring this to a boil over high heat.
- Cover the pot with a lid, turn down the heat to maintain a full simmer, and cook the wings for 15 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 430 degrees F (220 C).
- When the chicken is done, transfer the teriyaki wings to a metal rack set on top of a sheet pan.
- Let the teriyaki chicken wings sit for a few minutes to let the residual heat evaporate any liquid on the surface of the chicken.
- Bake the wings until the skin is a deep mahogany brown (about 10-12 minutes).
- While the wings bake, strain the braising liquid and skim off any excess fat. Boil the sauce over high heat until the mixture is as thick as maple syrup.
- When the teriyaki wings are done, remove them from the oven and use a pastry brush or spoon to glaze them with the reduced sauce.

- Place rack in center of the oven then preheat to 375 degrees. Coat a baking sheet with cooking spray then set aside. If you are making the full 5 lbs of wings, you may need 2 baking sheets. Don’t overcrowd the wings on the pan or they won’t become crispy! If you have a wire cooling rack, you can set that inside of your baking sheet and bake the wings on top of it so they stay crispy all around.
- Add rinsed and dried chicken wings to a large bowl then season lightly with salt and pepper. Sprinkle baking powder over wings, tossing occasionally to lightly dust each wing. Toss until each wing is evenly coated then transfer to prepared baking sheet.
- Space wings as far apart as possible then bake 45–55 minutes, turning once or twice during the process. Each time you turn the wings, spoon off any liquid that accumulates on the bottom of the pan. This will help the wings develop a crispier texture.
- Meanwhile, add soy sauce, orange juice, lemon juice, garlic, ginger, honey, rice vinegar, brown sugar and red pepper flakes to a medium saucepan then place over medium heat. Let sauce to come to a full rolling boil then reduce the heat to medium-low and simmer sauce for 8–9 minutes, just to reduce and thicken it slightly and allow the garlic and ginger a chance to flavor the sauce.

Category Dinner, LunchCalories 270 per serving
- For my video recipe, I used 4 large chicken breasts. This recipe will also work with bone-in or boneless chicken thighs; chicken drumsticks; or even chicken party wings.
- First, prepare the teriyaki sauce marinade. In a small bowl or measuring cup, combine the soy sauce, water, sugar, sesame seed oil, rice vinegar, garlic and ginger. Whisk for about 30 seconds until the ingredients are well combined.
- Arrange the chicken in a deep casserole tray or place into a ziplock bag (doubled!). Pour the prepared marinade over the chicken and turn until it's well coated all over. Marinate the chicken for a minimum of 1 hour, turning after 30 minutes. Ideally, I recommend marinating the chicken overnight. Once the chicken is marinated, remove it from the sauce and lightly pat dry with paper towels. Reserve the leftover marinade!
- Preheat the oven to 425F/218C. Preheat a large stainless steel or cast iron pan over medium-high heat and add a few tablespoons of oil. Once the pan and oil are extra hot, carefully add in the marinated chicken. For chicken breasts, fry them on each side for about 5 to 6 minutes, until well browned all over. For other cuts of chicken, do the same: fry on all sides until the outside is well browned.
