Steps:
- Cut 1 orange into thin slices, then into quarters, and reserve for garnish.
- With vegetable peeler or zester, thinly remove outer peel from second orange.
- In large bowl, using a spoon, bruise the peel with the sugar to release the oils.
- Stir in orange juice, wine and liqueur.
- Cover and chill. Remove orange peel after 15 minutes.
- Serve the sangria, garnished with the orange slices, over ice.
ORANGE, APEROL AND ROSEMARY SANGRIA
This bright orange sangria combines Aperol, a slightly bitter orange-flavored aperitif, with orange liqueur, soda, juice and slices and a nice herbal hit of fragrant rosemary for an early autumn tipple.

- Add the Aperol and rosemary to a 3-quart pitcher, and bruise the rosemary with a wooden spoon for 1 minute. Add the wine, juice, liqueur and soda water, and stir to combine. Add the oranges, and cover the pitcher with plastic wrap. Refrigerate the sangria for at least 4 hours and up to overnight.
- To serve, fill 8 glasses halfway with ice, then pour the sangria, oranges and herbs into each glass.
BLOOD ORANGE SANGRIA
Any good quality fruity red wine will work in this recipe. Combine a pinot noir and Beaujolais for a good taste. You can also substitute navel oranges for blood oranges if needed. This recipe is from Cooking Light.

Steps:
- Cut the orange into thin slices, and then cut the slices into wedges, and place in a large pitcher.
- Cut one long slice of rind from the lemon and add to the oranges.
- Slice completely around the peaches, cutting down to the pit, and twist the halves in opposite directions until the 2 halves come apart.
- Remove and discard the pits, slice the peaches and add to the oranges.
- Add the sugar to the fruit and stir.
- Pour in the wine and stir until the sugar dissolves.
- Taste and add more sugar or a squeeze or 2 of lemon juice to taste.
- Chill for at least an hour.
- When ready to serve, use a long handled spoon to stir and press the fruit against the side of the pitcher to extract some of the juice.
- Put the ice into glasses and pour the chilled Sangria over and add some fruit from the pitcher to each glass.
