Have you ever eaten at The Old Spaghetti Factory? My very favorite thing on the menu there is the Manager's Special! This dish has spaghetti noodles, topped half with meat sauce and half with brown butter & mizithra cheese! It's the best thing ever!!

Ingredients

1 tablespoon olive oil
1 pound ground beef
1 clove minced garlic
1 bottle Marinara sauce
24 ounces spaghetti noodles
1 cup butter
1 cup shredded mizithra cheese

Steps:

In a large pot, bring water to a boil. Add noodles and cook for 10 minutes, or until softened.
In a smaller pot, place cubes of butter in the pot on a medium heat. Stirring occasionally, allow butter to cook for 10 minutes, or until golden brown. Once the butter froths and turns to a caramel color, remove from pot. Simply place it in a glass cup or bowl for serving.
In a frying pan, brown meat & garlic on medium heat until meat is cooked through. When meat is cooked, add the jar of sauce to the pot. Meat sauce is ready when it is warmed through.
Shred Mizithra cheese and set aside.
Portion out a serving of noodles on a plate. Top half with meat sauce, and half with browned butter & shredded mizithra cheese. Enjoy!

This is a recipe my husband found in a Men's Health Magazine. This is a hearty sauce with lots of flavor. It takes your regular spaghetti sauce and turns it up a notch. My husband loves it!

1 lb extra lean ground beef
2 onions, chopped
1 green bell pepper, chopped
3 garlic cloves, minced
1 cup sliced mushrooms
2 (16 ounce) cans whole tomatoes, undrained
1 (14 ounce) jar spaghetti sauce
2 tablespoons italian seasoning
1 (16 ounce) package spaghetti, cooked as directed

Steps:

Brown the meat in a large saucepan. Drain the fat from the meat. Add the chopped onion, green pepper, and garlic to the pot and cook until tender. Pour in the mushrooms, tomatoes, sauce, and seasoning and stir everything together. Simmer for at least 30 minutes. Serve 1/2 c sauce over 1 c spaghetti.

2 pounds lean ground beef
1 pound ground pork
2 tablespoons olive oil
2 onions, chopped
1 clove garlic, crushed
3 cups red wine
2 pounds fresh mushrooms, sliced
¼ teaspoon dried rosemary
4 tablespoons chopped fresh oregano
¼ teaspoon chopped fresh thyme
3 (29 ounce) cans tomato sauce
1 (6 ounce) can tomato paste
2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese

Steps:

In a large skillet, brown beef and pork over medium heat until no longer pink; set aside.
In a large skillet, warm olive oil over medium heat and saute onions and garlic until tender; add about 1/2 cup of wine; mix well.
Add mushrooms, rosemary, oregano and thyme to skillet and add another 1/2 cup wine; saute until tender.
Add browned meat, tomato sauce and tomato paste to mixture; simmer for 1 hour and add the remaining 2 cups of wine.
Simmer sauce on low for 2 to 3 hours, stirring occasionally; serve.

1 1/2 lbs ground beef, browned
5 Italian sausages, boiled
olive oil
1 onion, chopped
5 garlic cloves, chopped
1/2 cup red wine
1/4 cup butter
1/2 teaspoon sugar
6 (15 ounce) cans tomato sauce
1 1/2 teaspoons sage
1 teaspoon allspice
1 teaspoon nutmeg
1 teaspoon oregano

Steps:

Coat bottom of stockpot with olive oil.
Over medium heat, melt butter.
Add hamburger, sausage, onion, and garlic.
When onions are soft, add sugar, tomato sauce, sage, allspice, nutmeg, oregano, and wine; mix well and adjust to taste.
Increase heat to high and bring to a boil.
Reduce heat to low and simmer uncovered for 4 hours. Stir every 15 to 20 minutes.
