Next Generation Chex Mix Food

ROSEMARY AND GARLIC CHEX MIX

Steps:

• Adjust oven rack to lower middle position, heat oven to 300 degrees. Mix cereals, nuts, and bagel chips; spread on a large, rimmed baking sheet and bake until fragrant and deeper in color, about 25 minutes.
• Meanwhile combine butter, rosemary, minced garlic, sesame seeds, sugar, and cayenne pepper in a small bowl.
• Pour butter mixture over hot Chex mix in a large bowl; toss evenly to coat. Serve warm or at room temperature. (Can be stored in airtight container for several days.)

RAINBOW PARTY CHEX™ MIX

Steps:

• Open Chex™ cereal. Separate into 5 even parts, about 3 cups per serving. Spread parchment paper on 5 large baking sheets, or if you have the space, on kitchen counters and table for a lot of room to allow the coated mix to dry.
• In a large, microwave-safe bowl, melt red candy melts just until smooth. Add three cups of Chex™ to the bowl, stirring until the cereal is coated with the melted candy. Spread onto a piece of parchment paper and cool completely. Repeat for every color.
• Once the Chex™ Mix is fully dried and hardened, break it up into smaller pieces. Arrange in a bowl by color, or mix it all together for a multicolored party mix. Enjoy!

NEXT GENERATION CHEX MIX

Steps:

• 1. Spray large turkey roaster with food release. Put butter and olive oil in the bottom of the roaster, and put it in the oven while it's preheating to 250*.
• 2. While butter is melting, measure out your cereal, pretzels, and almonds. Set aside.
• 3. When butter is melted add the Worcestershire Sauce and seasoned salt. Stir a bit to combine. All at once add cereal and pretzels. Stir gently and thoroughly, until well-coated. This will take a few minutes, and it's important for best distribution of flavor.
• 4. Bake 1 hour, stirring gently and thoroughly every 15 minutes. After 45 min, stir in smokehouse almonds. Return roaster to the oven, turn the oven off, and allow the mix to finish, then cool, in the oven. Add pistachios, if desired and/or other add-ins. Store airtight.
• 5. * I use VitaSpelt Original Pretzels, since we're gluten sensitive.
• 6. **Other optional add-ins include: sesame sticks, Glutino GF Bagel Chips, rice crackers (especially good with tamari almonds), and for those not GF, crunchy Cheetos, cheese nips, or fish crackers. Besides being tasty and fun, this is a good way to stretch the mix if you need to.
• 7. NOTES: If you prefer, you can use plain whole almonds -- I put them in the oven with the melting butter, to toast them a bit. You could also use tamari almonds instead of the smokehouse flavor, if you like. If you're not gluten sensitive or allergic to peanuts, this recipe works just as well with the classic ingredients: 6c.rice, 6c. corn, 4c. wheat chex, 2c. peanuts, 3c. pretzels -- it's the ingredient amounts and combinations that make it better (we think!) than the original recipe :)

PARTY MIX

Steps:

• Preheat the oven to 250 degrees F.
• Dump the corn, wheat and rice cereal into a large mixing bowl. Add the pretzel sticks and nuts.
• In a microwave-safe bowl, add the butter, Worcestershire, seasoned salt, paprika, chili powder, onion powder, hot sauce and garlic and microwave until the butter is melted. Stir together and toss into the cereal mixture, stirring as you go.
• Transfer the mixture to 1 or 2 baking sheets and bake for 1 hour 15 minutes, stirring every 15 minutes. Let cool and store in an airtight container.
• Grab a handful every 40 minutes. Eat. Spoil your appetite.

CHEX MIX

Steps:

• Heat oven to 225 degrees.
• Bake for three hours, stirring every 30 minutes.
