These steaks are wonderful and easy to make. They also make their own gravy. Wonderful served with rice.

4 (4 ounce) cube steaks
½ teaspoon Cajun seasoning, or to taste
¼ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
1 (12 fluid ounce) can or bottle lemon-lime flavored carbonated beverage
2 (10.75 ounce) cans condensed cream of mushroom soup
1 (1 ounce) envelope dry onion soup mix

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C). Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.
  • Season the steaks on both sides with Cajun seasoning and black pepper. Place the steaks into the prepared baking dish. Pour the lemon-lime beverage over them. Combine the cream of mushroom soup and dry onion soup mix, and pour over the steaks.
  • Bake, uncovered, for about 1 hour, or until meat reaches desired doneness. Do not open the oven door during the first hour of cooking. Serve steaks with gravy spooned over.

1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
Dash pepper
2 beef cube steaks (1/4 to 1/3 pound each)
2 tablespoons butter, divided
1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce, divided
1/2 pound fresh mushrooms, sliced
1 tablespoon chopped onion
2 tablespoons minced fresh parsley

Steps:

  • In a large resealable plastic bag, combine the flour, salt and pepper. Add beef, a piece at a time, and shake to coat. , In a large skillet brown steak over medium heat, in 1 tablespoon butter until meat is no long pink. Remove the steaks to a serving platter; spread each with 1/2 teaspoon mustard. Pour 1/4 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce over each; keep warm. , In the same skillet, saute mushrooms and onion in remaining butter until tender. Add parsley and remaining Worcestershire sauce. Return steaks to skillet; cover and simmer for 5-7 minutes or until meat is tender.

1 can French onion soup
1 -2 cup water

Steps:

  • Preheat large skillet on medium high heat.
  • Add 1 T.
  • oil.
  • Season cube steaks with salt, pepper and garlic powder to taste.
  • Brown cube steaks in preheated skillet.
  • Add 1 can French Onion Soup, 1 cup of water, 1 4 oz can of mushrooms.
  • Reduce heat, cover and simmer on low heat for 30-45 minutes.
  • You may need to add additional water.
  • Remove meat to platter, cover to keep warm.

1/4 cup Cooking Oil
3-4 cuts Cube Steak ((1-2 pounds))
Salt
Ground Black Pepper
1/2 cup Flour
1/2 teaspoon Paprika
1/2 teaspoon Garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon Onion powder
2 cups low-sodium Beef Broth
1 tablespoon Worcestershire
1 tablespoon low sodium Soy Sauce
8 oz fresh Mushrooms ((sliced))
1/4 cup Flour
1/4 cup Butter
1-2 cups low sodium beef broth ((as needed))
Salt as needed

Steps:

  • Place flour, paprika, onion, and garlic powder in a dish and mix to combine.
  • Season cube steaks with salt and pepper on both sides and dredge in flour mixture.
  • Heat oil in a large 12" skillet on medium heat. Once oil is shimmering add cube steaks and brown on each side.*
  • Once cubed steaks have browned add low sodium beef broth, Worcestershire, soy sauce, and sliced mushrooms. Cover and simmer on low for two hours.**
  • After two hours, remove cube steaks from the skillet and set aside. Pour remaining liquid and mushrooms through a strainer to separate, reserving the liquid in a bowl.
  • Prepare the gravy by melting butter in the skillet, once melted sprinkle in flour and whisk to combine to form a roux. Continue whisking to prevent flour from burning until the mixture begins to darken slightly (2-4 minutes).
  • Measure the reserved liquid previously set aside from simmering cubed steaks. Add additional low sodium beef broth to the reserved liquid so the total liquid equals 2 cups.***
  • A little at a time add the liquid to the flour/butter mixture, whisking to incorporate before more is added. Adding too much at once will create lumpy gravy.
  • Once all of the liquid has been incorporated, return cube steaks and mushrooms to the skillet. Simmer as needed to thicken the gravy and taste for salt and pepper, add more as needed.
  • Serve cube steaks topped with mushrooms and gravy.

3 eggs, lightly beaten
3 tsp. seasoning salt
1 large bowl

Steps:

  • Pour flour, seasoning salt, and pepper in to a large bowl.
  • Lightly beat the eggs and place them into a medium bowl. At this point take a small bowl and mix the milk and cream of mushroom soup together and place it to the side.
  • Heat the oil in a large, heavy skillet over medium-high heat. Then, take a cube steak and place it into the medium egg bowl (make sure steaks are completely coated). Next, take the coated cube steak and roll it into the large flour bowl (make sure steaks are completely coated).
  • Place steaks in to the pan for 4 to 6 minutes on each side, or until golden brown. Drain extra grease.
  • Lower the heat to medium-low and pour the cream of mushroom soup mixture on top of the steaks let it cook until the soup starts to bubble. Finally, take them out and serve with your mashed potatoes and greens. You can use the extra cream of mushroom soup for gravy for your potatoes.

I usually make a swiss steak type dish with them, but this looked good to me, since I like mushrooms. I put it here for safe keeping. It did turn out tasty, though the broth needs to be thickened in the end I thought.

1 packet Lipton Onion Soup Mix ((use Recipe Secrets Onion or Beefy Onion flavor))

3/4 cup water ((optional, for thinner gravy))
1 1/2 lbs cube steaks ((4-6 cube steaks))
1 medium yellow onion ((or white onion, sliced))
4-8 oz mushrooms ((optional, sliced))

Steps:

  • Combine the cans of cream of mushroom condensed soup with the Lipton Onion Soup Mix and ground black pepper (plus water if desired) in your crock pot. Mix until well combined.

Steps:

  • Cook meat until done. Before meat is done, fix your iron skillet by lining it with aluminum foil. Then, mix the cream of mushroom soup with 1/2 can of water (use your empty soup can).
  • Then, add about 1/2 of the soup into the iron skillet. When the meat is fully cooked, let it cool, and then put 2 pieces on top of the soup. Add the rest of the soup and put the other 2 pieces on top of that.
  • Cook in the oven at 400 degrees for 20 minutes. Serve.
