1 loaf Italian bread
8 ounces mozzarella cheese, shredded
1/3 cup butter, softened
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Steps:

  • Mix all ingredients except bread.
  • Slice bread partially at 1 inch intervals; be careful to not cut all the way through loaf.
  • Spread 1 side of each slice with the cheese mixture.
  • Wrap in foil.
  • Bake at 425F for 25 minutes; serve hot.
  • You may also use 2 TB of chopped fresh parsley instead of oregano.

1 16 oz loaf Italian bread
1/2 cup butter (melted)
1/2 tsp dry Italian seasoning or oregano
1/2 tsp onion powder
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/4 tsp garlic salt
2 Tbsp grated Parmesan cheese
16 slices mozzerella cheese (quartered)

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F. Line a cookie sheet with parchment. Set aside.
  • Use a sharp knife cut approximately 1-inch slices on the diagonal across the bread. Repeat going the opposite direction to form diamonds.
  • Melt butter and mix with the Italian seasoning, onion powder, garlic powder and garlic salt.
  • Drizzle into the cut portions of the loaf reserving 2 Tbsp to brush on top.
  • Sprinkle all over and between the cuts with the grated Parmesan cheese. Bake for 8 minutes.
  • Remove from the oven and place cheese slices between each cut. Brush with melted butter.
  • Bake for another 5-8 minutes or until the cheese melts.
  • Pull apart and serve immediately as is or with marinara sauce for dipping.

3/4 cup grated Pepper Jack
1/2 cup grated Parmesan
1/2 cup (real) mayonnaise
1 1/4 sticks softened butter
4 whole green onions (white and light green parts), minced
1 dash salt
Freshly ground black pepper
4 cloves garlic, finely minced
1 loaf crusty French bread
1/2 cup chopped fresh flat-leaf parsley

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F.
  • Mix the cheeses with the mayonnaise, 1/4 stick of the softened butter and the green onions. Add the salt and pepper to taste and set aside or keep in the fridge until you need it.
  • Melt the remaining 1 stick butter in a skillet over medium-low heat and add the garlic. Cook for a couple of minutes to release the garlic flavor.
  • Cut the loaf of bread in half. Brush the garlic butter over each half, making sure it's evenly distributed. Spread the cheese mixture on the loaves and bake until the cheese is hot and bubbly, about 10 minutes.
  • Once out of the oven, sprinkle over the chopped parsley. Slice and serve.

  • Heat oven to 350ºF.
  • Separate biscuits; cut each into quarters. Place 1 mozzarella cube on center of each dough piece; wrap dough around cheese to completely enclose cheese with dough.

I made this bread last weekend to serve with homemade lasagna because garlic bread with cheese was $2.69 per loaf! I decided that was rather ridiculous and it's not that tasty, so I decided to make my own. This is what I came up with and it's very simple, but one of the best breads I've served. Add more or less garlic to suit your own tastes.

1 loaf sourdough bread, split lengthwise
1/2 cup butter
1/2 teaspoon minced garlic
1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
1 teaspoon parsley flakes, fresh or dried
4 tablespoons parmesan cheese

Steps:

  • Combine butter and garlic and melt in microwave.
  • Add the parsley to the butter and using a pastry brush, liberally brush both sides of the bread.
  • Sprinkle the parmesan cheese on the bread and then sprinkle the mozzarella cheese on top.
  • Bake under the broiler for approximately 2-3 minutes or until golden brown and bubbly.

Allow bread to toast in the skillet, removing garlic if it starts to get too brown.Repeat with remaining butter, garlic, and bread.Spread cheese mixture on warm loaves and bake in a 425 degree oven until cheese is hot and bubbly, about 10 minutes.Slice and serve.Then get on the Stairmaster. Pronto.

1 teaspoon of grated garlic
1/2 cup of Unsalted Butter
1/2 teaspoon of Salt
1 tablespoon of chopped green Onion
2 cup of flour
1 egg
2 tablespoon of brown sugar
1/2 cup of milk
3 tablespoon of unsalted butter
2 teaspoon of yeast
1/4 teaspoon of salt

Steps:

  • In a small plate bowel, combine milk, egg, yeast and brown sugar. Stir and set aside.
  • In a large bowl, add flour and then the yeast-milk mixture. Stir using the wooden spoon followed by adding the melted butter
  • Use your hand to knead the dough till it turns soft and fluffy
  • Transfer into the baking tray and use your hand to shaped into a ball
  • Cover with a clean towel and set aside for 1 hour to let it grow
  • In a small plate bowel, add the unsalted butter, grated garlic, salt and chopped green onion.
  • Stir to combine using small spoon till it turns into a paste
  • Remove the towel from the dough, and use your hand to flatten into a circle shape.
  • Use the sharp knife to score the dough in all side like the picture shown in the post.
  • Cut the mozzarella cheese into a 1 inch smaller pieces.
  • Insert each cheeses within the lines of the scored dough
  • Use the brush to spread the bread dough with garlic butter
  • Transfer into the oven and let it bake for 15 to 20 minutes in 200 C (400 F).
  • You can eat it alone or serve with soup or pasta

1 loaf Italian bread
2 heads garlic
2 tbsp olive oil
8 tbsp unsalted room temperature butter
1/2 tsp sea salt (more or less to taste)
1/2 tsp ground black pepper (more or less to taste)
1/4 cup chopped flat leaf Italian parsley
1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
1/2 cup shredded parmesan cheese

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Peel the outer layers of the whole head of garlic. Making sure to leave the garlic cloves intact.
  • Use a sharp knife and cut the top 1/4 of the head of garlic. You want to be able to expose the garlic. Drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle with salt and pepper. Cover with aluminum foil. Bake for 40 minutes. Set aside to cool.
  • Once the garlic is cool enough to handle, squeeze in a large mixing bowl. Add room temperature butter, parsley, parmesan cheese, salt and pepper. Mix until smooth.
  • Make 1/2 inch wide cuts in your bread. Make sure to cut about 90% of the way down, leaving the bottom of the bread connected. Spread compound butter in between the slices, and across the top of the crust. Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese on top of the bread and cover with aluminum foil.
  • Set your oven to 400 degrees F and bake the loaf for 35-40 minutes.
  • Remove from the oven and serve warm. You can cut through the bottom of the bread with a knife or pull off a slice with your hands!

  • Combine the stick of butter, granulated garlic, parsley, and a pinch of salt in a small bowl. Mix well. Spread a thin layer of the butter mixture onto each slice of bread. Place two slices of mozzarella onto half of the bread slices (see pictures). Close the sandwiches.
  • Prepare 3 shallow bowls, one with the flour, one with the eggs, and one with the breadcrumbs. Beat the eggs. Season the breadcrumbs with a pinch of salt. Dredge each sandwich really well through the flour, eggs, and then breadcrumbs.
  • Heat 2 (12”) fry pans over medium-low heat. Add 2 tablespoons of butter to each pan and let melt. Once the butter is hot, add 2 of the sandwiches to each pan. Cook until golden on one side, about 3 minutes. Carefully flip the sandwiches. Cook for another 3 minutes until golden.
  • Drizzle the sandwiches with olive oil and cover the pans, leaving the lids cracked slightly so steam can escape. Cook for 1-2 more minutes, or until the cheese has fully melted.

Place two half pieces of cheese into each cut. Spread remaining garlic and herb butter over top and sides of loaf. Place onto foil and bring edges up to seal. Place onto baking sheet. Bake 25-30 minutes or until cheese is melted and bread is toasty. Open foil and broil top, if desired. Serve immediately.
