25 BEST MEXICAN DRINKS FOR ALL YOUR FIESTAS IN 2022 ...

From mexicancandy.org
Estimated Reading Time 5 mins
  • Agua Fresca de Pepino. Mexican Agua Frescas are well-known and loved. One of them is Agua Fresca de Pepino made with fresh cucumbers. Instead of cucumbers, you can use any fruits (like strawberries or apples ) or even hibiscus flowers (we will also cover that in this post).
  • Bloody Maria. Bloody Maria is a Mexican alcoholic drink made with tequila and spicy sauces. Before we jump into learning to make shots that can potentially give you a hangover, let’s be ready with the cure.
  • Ponche. Do you think it sounds similar to ‘punch’? You guessed it right. Mexican fruit punch is called ponche. It is usually served during the holidays, and its fresh taste is the result of the seasonal fruits (mostly tejocotes) used in it.
  • Tepache. Tepache is a fermented yet non-alcoholic Mexican beverage made with the peel and core of pineapples (Yea, not the flesh. So, save your canned pineapple slices).
  • Sangrita. We didn’t spell sangria wrong and will direct you to its recipe sooner in this post. But for now, let’s learn how to make sangrita like an experienced drink-maker.
  • Michelada. Michelada is a variant of Bloody Maria, a refreshing summer drink and is made differently throughout Mexico. The standard recipe uses light beer, Worcestershire sauce, and lime juice.
  • Jamaica Agua Fresca / Agua de Jamaica / Hibiscus Water. Agua de Jamaica (pronounced hah-my-cah) is another Mexican agua fresca made with hibiscus. You can use either dry or fresh hibiscus flowers based on availability.
  • Chavela. Chavela is the Mexican way of teaching you how to level up your beer game. Beer is flavored with tomato juice and hot sauce. If you can find Mexican light beer, you’re halfway close to making the perfect chavela.
  • Jalapeno Margarita. Gear yourself up for a super spicy margarita! Jalapeno margarita is made by infusing your drink with jalapeno when it’s being processed in the shaker cup.
  • Paloma. This Mexican tequila-based cocktail is very popular in Mexico and is sold in soda cans too. You can make it at home if you have a shaker cup and a few ingredients.

  • Margarita. There are plenty of fancy, fruity, and fun margarita recipes out there, but none of them beats the original – the traditional lime and tequila drink with the salted rim.
  • Michelada. If you’re looking for a drink that’s both savory and spicy, you’ll want to check out the michelada. It’s a bit like a Bloody Mary, but it has a richer, more robust flavor.
  • Paloma. This refreshing drink is perfect for summer, and since you can whip it up in only 5 minutes, it may just become one of your new favorite cocktails.
  • Mexican Hot Chocolate. Although I suppose you could add a dash of rum to it if you like, Mexican hot chocolate isn’t usually served with alcohol in it.
  • Horchata. Call it horchata or call it rice water. Call it whatever you want to call it; this drink is delicious. Sweet, creamy, and milky, with just enough cinnamon to add spice, horchata goes with practically anything.
  • Fruit Agua Frescas. These fresh, fruity frescas are a summertime favorite in my house. They taste like pure, undiluted fruit juice, and aside from a little sugar and water, that’s precisely what they are.
  • Champurrado. Many people confuse champurrado with Mexican hot chocolate, and while they do share a base of chocolate and cinnamon, they’re two different things.
  • Ponche. Ponche is one of my favorite fall drinks. I’m not sure if you’re actually supposed to serve it in the fall, but that’s when I love it most. It’s sort of like a hot fruit punch combined with warm apple cider.
  • Carajillo. Also known as the coffee cocktail, carajillo requires only three ingredients – espresso, Licor 43, and ice cubes – and takes about 5 minutes to make once you brew your espresso.
  • Atole. Atole is like the polar opposite of Mexican hot chocolate. In other words, it’s a hot, sweet, and cinnamony drink, but instead of chocolate, you’ll make it with vanilla.

15 OF THE MOST AMAZING MEXICAN COFFEE COCKTAIL RECIPES

From eatwineblog.com
  • Classic Mexican Coffee. This is the original, alcoholic, cocktail recipe for what we would consider the classic ‘Mexican Coffee’. The recipe combines hot coffee with 1 oz coffee liqueur and ½ oz Tequila and finishes the whole affair with whipped cream – consider this the Mexican Cowboy’s Espresso Martini.
  • Virgin Mexican Coffee. This is a similar recipe for Mexican Coffee that gets rid of teh alcohol and replaces it with other fanciful additions. This might be what a European could consider to be closer to a Mocha, but is essentially a cup of hot cocoa with the added flair of coffee.
  • Traditional Mexican Coffee. This recipe is different mainly for its methodology which is reminiscent of how an old cowboy may make it, but also adds a lot of flavor.
  • Orange Mexican Coffee. This is a particularly adult recipe, which remains original, yet offers some great alternatives to make this simple cocktail a little more fanciful.
  • Mexican Coffee With Triple Sec. This is a more alcoholic version of the cocktail recipe that is doing a spin on the Irish Coffee recipe. This recipe suggests ½ ox each of Triple Sec, Tequila, and Kahlue in addition to 6 oz of coffee.
  • Mexican Coffee With Vanilla Ice Cream. This is every adult’s dream, a combination of hot cocoa, a coke float, and precious coffee! A truly indulgent affair, this is perhaps the ultimate Mexican Coffee combining lots of alcohol, ice cream, and coffee.
  • Chocolate Mexican Coffee. This is a recipe for the chocoholics among us, the main focus of this recipe is chocolate. Moreover, this is a virgin cocktail that is great for a cold night.
  • Carajillo. This drink is sort of like a shorter version of the classic Mexican coffee recipe. The recipe prefers the use of espresso rather than filter coffee which is welcome.
  • Spanish Carajilio. Ths is similar to the previous recipe but adds a different twist on both the Mexican coffee recipe anad the Carajillo. This recipe simply uses rum or brandy instead of Licor 43 which potentially makes this more accessible to an American audience.
  • Dirty Horchata. This is a little off-piste but we think if you enjoy the Latin vibes of the Mexican Coffee cocktail, this dirty horchata might just be for you.
