CALIFORNIA FARM WITH PRODUCTIVE MANGO GROVE, USDA ZONE 10A
Apr 17, 2024 California farm with productive mango grove, USDA zone 10AI have been out there and it's a really neat place. Not only do they sell fresh fruit when it season, but they also sell fruit tree seedlings at a reasonable price. Nice folks running the place too. I would recommend reaching out to them ahead of time before heading over. Logged Tropical Fruit T-shirts: https://duriandesigns.threadless.com From tropicalfruitforum.com
COLD-HARDY GOMERA-1 MANGO TREE - TROPICAL FRUIT FORUM
Jul 21, 2016 Gomera-1 is a hardy variety of Mango suited to a coastal Mediterranean climate. It is used as a rootstock for grafting other cultivars of mango, because the roots of Gomera-1 grow better in colder or dryer areas and improve the cold-hardiness of the plant. This variety of mango is well adapted to the environment of the Canary Islands. From tropicalfruitforum.com
Sep 6, 2024 Bolt Mango- UNPARALLELED taste discovery. The following mango season, several people were invited and gathered together at the Starbucks in Punta Gorda for a mango taste test. Jul 30, 2025 2025 Mango seasonI tried one at mango fest last year - it was one of the best mangos I’ve ever had. Immediately went on a quest to procure and plant a tree. My tree has been in ground for about 6 months and is holding 3 fruit. It’s flushing heavily. Next year should be far better- look forward to having more SJ! Logged From tropicalfruitforum.com
Apr 17, 2024 Growing Mango trees in Southern CaliforniaYes, all Mangos should be exploding with growth at this time of year regardless of rootstock. If you haven’t fertilized much yet, now is a good time to fertilize and push growth. No need to worry about excess Nitrogen inhibiting flower initiation in Winter. Now is a great time for minors and trace minerals as well, if … From tropicalfruitforum.com
Aug 8, 2025 2025 Mango seasonCeciLove is more flavorful than Sweet Tart, and I prefer eating CeciLove. It's very good and I think most people will like it even more than I do. It shares some flaws with Sweet Tart (small mango, large seed) and the tree can be more challenging to grow. My potted CeciLove looks half dead, and others have had trees die out of the blue. But if you like that flavor and you want ... From tropicalfruitforum.com
Jun 8, 2024 2024 FL Mango SeasonI leaned one of the seeds vertically to illustrate just how incredibly thin the seeds are in this variety. Totally flat and about 1/8 inch thick for the small ones, and around 1/4 inch thick for full size Mahas. I just ate these and they were absolutely superb! I can't remember who recommended Maha to me when I was looking to buy a mango tree but I thank whoever it was! Logged From tropicalfruitforum.com

Apr 17, 2024 How do I avoid "mango mouth?"This time I even tried to wash the mangoes and my lips and scrub with dawn dish soap after every mango and that may have helped a little, but not enough. Right now it's not as bad as last year I ate mango, maybe the dish soap worked, and as a yearly treat I can handle the misery but I'd rather be … From tropicalfruitforum.com
Apr 17, 2024 Bolt is a delicious mango, one of my favorites, reminds me of Carrie and sweet tart where resin flavor penetrates all through flesh, when I first had it years ago I asked Richard Campbell why they call it bolt he said “because when the mango hits your taste buds it’s like a lightning bolt” tend to agree lol.
